Hi everyone. I'm busy creating a custom career for TW 07 and trying to figure out all the ins and outs of the process. I've only ever created a custom career with TW 06, so some of this is new to me. And I've run into a couple of issues/questions that I need some help with.

First the issue: I create a custom career in 07 and assign St Andrews as the course for one tourney. But when I go to play the tourney in my custom career, the game loads Pebble Beach instead. I've tested this several times with different career files and it happens each time. St Andrews loads correctly in my 06 career, so I'm stumped as to why it doesn't in 07. Anyone have any input as to why this would be happening?

Next my question: Is there a way to install the default 06 courses into 07, and do they even work with 07? I'd like to install Pasatiempo and a couple of others. I do a lot of editing, so I feel I should be able to figure this out as it seems like it should be easy to do. But I can't figure it out! Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Okay, Im wondering if the game loads Pebble Beach by default because its not reading St Andrews as installed in 06. I know all courses one uses in their 07 custom career have to be installed in both 06 and 07. If thats the issue, how do I then install the 07 version of St Andrews in 06. Or is that even possible?

EDIT: After more testing its clear the game is defaulting to Pebble Beach because the default 07 courses arent installed in 06. I assumed that because the 06 and 07 versions share the same file name, that the game would recognise the newer versions, but it doesnt. So again, Im wondering if its possible to update the default courses in 06, and install the newer versions of those courses that are included in 07: St Andrews, Pebble Beach, Sawgrass, Witch Hollow, etc.

Heh, talking to myself here. Just found all the EA Sports courses from all the different versions of the game in the courses download section. Am about to download a few and see if thats the answer.

EDIT: Hmm, no download links available to the EA Sports courses... Anyone know why that is? Are these not available for download due to copyright laws or something?

You will need to install the 07 version of St.Andrews into 06 if you want it to work in 07. Since you already have both, that won't be a problem. Just use the installer to install it from the 07 courses folder or from the disc. I however did expireance the same thing recently, and I know that I had everything installed correctly. I had even played an event at St. Andrews earlier in the same season. I had recreated the 2010 euro tour schedule. So the Open was played at St. Andrews, and it worked just fine. Then when it came time to play the Dunhill Links Championship, which is played on three courses, including 2 rounds at St. Andrews, the game loaded the stock Pebble Beach course. I had set it up to use the same St. Andrews course. It show St. Andrews in the schedule, but did not load it. I know this does not involve answering your question, but I thought I'd mention it since I had something similar happen. Just some info you may find useful if you enjoy playing custom schedules on TW07, most custom TW08 courses will run just fine in TW07, but most also require some stock TW08 Libraries, which you can only get from the game it's self at this time. There has also been a work around found for creating a custom schedule that works in TW08. Hope some of this helps.

Hi jhdabrick, thanks for that response. How do I install 07 courses in 06? That's what I can't figure out. When I use the installer, the only files it highlights and reads are the various courses' library files, which install fine. But there doesn't seem to be an actual course file to install. Or I haven't found where they're located.

Okay, so I tried to install the 07 version St Andrews in 06 once more, but with no luck. Heres what I do and what happens:

I open the 06 installer
I locate the TW 07 courses folder
I click on the St Andrews (;STA) folder
The only file the installer recognizes and lets me install is the STA.tcl library file
When I use St Andrews in a custom career, it still defaults to Pebble Beach

Am I not looking in the correct location for the course file?

Make a copy of the 07 St andrews course folder to the desktop, then make the copy a zip file. After you do that, the install should be able to install the zipped folder just fine, just as if you had downloaded it from here.

jhdabrick, your Winzip workaround worked like a charm. Tested it with St Andrews and it fires up perfectly in my 07 career. So all my problems solved apparently. Thanks a million for taking the time to help me with that, I sincerely appreciate it.
