WHY? If you let the Caddie just install them when they're finished downloading then if anything really bad ever happens (TW game fails, Windows fails) you'll need to download all over again. By making a folder to contain MyZips and saving courses there you'll have an archive, no future downloads needed for those courses. Then, if you ever need to re-install, start with the oldest saved MyZip first and work your way up the timeline to the latest.

HOW? I made a bunch of snapshots of my process and assembled them. Hope it makes sense for you.

people really just download the same course and library again and again??

and don't save the original downloads for future use??

wow - what a waste of time and resources for them and the site

not rocket science: download/save once, use again and again

I do run into a few players who do this, mainly because installing the Caddie creates a file handler registry entry for MyZips. But also because the game is really almost everything they know or care to know about Windows. Make a folder? Hmmm. Copypaste something? Hmmm. Set browser (what's that?) Options (?) to Save files? Hmmm. Unzip a normal Zip? Hmmm. These are the same folks who Never download and install any software from anywhere else, just the Caddie and courses. Plus, CDL makes it so easy.

If this were "back to the drawing board" at CDL you could:

a. make the Caddie a non-installer exe inside a normal zip, with simple Make a Folder, Save As, unzipping, and Open Installation Archive instructions Online as well as inside the zip. Hmmm? Something similar but better than my flowchart. But then people would be forced to learn stuff, oh well...

b. give each MyZip the actual Course name instead of 18025.MyZip over and over (at least on my box it's 18025 every time). With me, if I don't Save As but just let the Caddie open the 18025, which downloads to Temp, the next 18025 can become a problem.

apologies - my reply was tongue-in-cheek as it has been an 'issue' since day 1

players not taking the time to learn some very basic things about how the installers work
and how to archive courses and libs on their local PC instead of just coming back to the trough

twcaddie has helped immensely with the synchronize function showing which libraries are needed versus those already installed or previously downloaded

but saving and renaming the Myzip files (to something course or library name related) or extracting them into more functional local folders still seems to be something that more players could consider doing

btw - some players still use the original installers - EA Course Utilities or CLSetup - where some basic windows directory/folder ability helps

You can also make one big zipfile of your Libraries folder in TW08:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Libraries
This way you will have one big zipfile with all libraries inside

Next make one big zipfile of your Courses folder in TW08:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses
This way you will have one big zipfile with all courses inside.

On your new system...open TWCaddie08.....and first install the libraries big zipfile, all libraries will be installed one by one.
At last open TWCaddie08.....and install the Courses big zipfile, all Courses will be installed one by one.
