| before my pc with windows Vista died and i went to win7 i was able to host online games via direct Ip. NOw when my friend tries to connect he gets the error " host does not appear to be hosting..." I have dropped my routers firewall, my windows firewall, and turned off my anti virus active protection. still no luck. is there some issue with windows 7 not allowing direct Ip to Ip games over the internet? Rather than connect to some server, i always enjoyed being able to start a game myself andf having an out of state brother and friend join but it no longer seems possible since the upgrade. anyone have any ideas? |

| I would recommend trying a third party program like Hamachi to host your IP-IP games. In the past when I had problems with the built-in LAN options in the TW game, I started using Hamachi and had no problems. There is a tutorial in the Utilities area that can help you get set up if you want to go with this option. |

| Thanks jsjarvis,but i don't like the added complexity, and my less than PC capable brother would not find it too easy. is this problem a real Win7 issue or a bug or something? |

| TW08 wasn't designed natively for Win 7. It was produced before Win 7 was developed. That is why I gave you the option of the 3rd party software. I know on my own rig that is running WinXP I could never get the built-in LAN components to work properly without using Hamachi. Many others will agree with me that the built-in LAN features in TW08 do not always work properly, especially on later OS's like Vista and Win 7. |

i dunno exactly what you have problem but i have no problem with Win7 to connect via LAN with my pplz
it installed Win7 on my PC with KOREAN Edition, and i have loged as adminstrator account
and i turned off all of firewall settings so it works for me
im not sure that is the reason what i successed to connect via LAN mode in TW08
anyways, i have no problem to connect with my pplz |
