I remember back in 04 the type of shaft you used with your clubs made a difference with how you swung with the mouse, either fast or slow, one shaft was better than the other for your swing type. Does this still hold true for 08? Also balls made a difference as well for spin and distance. Does equipment have an effect like it did in 04? I never actually looked into this befor and can't find alot of info on it. |

I am not sure about offline play, but the equipment made a difference on online play. For example when you use stiff flex shafts you will win some distance, but the ball direction will be harder to control. Also depends what level you play.....novice....intermediate...advanced or expert. Not sure it will make any difference on Novice, but it made difference on expert level. I played all available tours on expert level from 2005....until 2009, and equipment below gave me the best results on online play. A lot of my teammates used the same equipment in TW08:
Nike CPR Extra Stiff Flex Shafts, King Cobra FP Irons, EA 1-Under Edition Wedges, King Cobra Speed LD F Driver, King Cobra Speed Pro Fairway Woods, Bridgestone B330-S |

It does make a difference but only if you true swing, not 3 click. It is all trial and error actually. I used to 3 click when I played TW07 but switched to true swing for TW08. I tried different stiffness shafts until I got one that gave me a good tempo. What works for someone may not work for you. The type of clubs didn't make any difference to me be it Nike, Taylor Made, etc. The only thing that is true is the ball. The Bridgestone B330-S does give you a few extra yards. |
