Been away from this game for quite sometime and was pleased to see that a fix has been found to have a career in 08. I followed all the steps and all is fine, my next question is when wanting to use 08 custom courses in the career editor how do you go about installing them for use. My apologies if this has already been posted, I may have missed a step it was late last night when I was going through the process. Hope someone can point me in the right direction. |

I didn t try it yet, but you can find help on link below, read fourth post on link below:
http://www.coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?post=8870&forum=11
Somewhere in the middle of the fourth post you will find this:
Courses from Coursedownloads (Custom courses):
All custom courses you want to use in your career game in TW08 must be installed together with their libraries in TW06, TW07, TW08. This is because: TW06 > Career Editor needs to recognize the courses TW07 > will save the PGA.gcf file and also must recognize the courses TW08 > need courses referenced in the pga.gcf file to play your career. |

The trouble I am having is putting the 08 courses into 06 and 07. I am drawing a blank on how to do this. Is it the same procedure, create a zip file of the custom course, then use cl setup to install into 06 and 07. I tried it with torrey pines south 2009 and cl setup told me it was unable to "do this" can't remember exactly what it said. I am at work so I can't try it again right now to know exactly what cl setup said. |

Yes you can use the same downloaded zipfile of the custom course. Just install it in TW06 and TW07 with CLsetup06 and CLsetup07. The only difference is that all TW08 custom courses are using at least one TW08 stock library. So you will also have to install the Tw08 stock libraries in TW06 and TW07. |

I am going to assume each library has to be done individually and not all in one zip file as well? |

you can zip them all together and do it as one install ie clsetup will see all libraries, and install them in order to the folder you use same as if you did them one at a a time |

Just an update to all who are interested in this topic. I am on my fourth tournament now and have only used custom courses so far and so far so good. Also I was able to play my very first tournament in January. When I first loaded up my career the big screen TV was saying that I had withdrawn from the tournament(Sony Open) I knew this was going to happen as it was stated in the instructions on how to create an 08 career. I opened up my calender to start my career and noticed that the first round of the first tournament was still avalable so I decided to click on it and see what would happen. What happened was I was able to play all four rounds and T16 for the tournament. So it is possible to play the first tournament. Also as I was doing an analysis of the my course installations during the process I was told that I was missing The K-club 08, Riviera 08 and The Ocean Course, Kiawah Island 08 in the 06 clsetup and Riviera 08 in the 07 clsetup. I also installed those as well, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I will let you know if I run into any problems as I go on. |

hello, I do not have tw06 on pc, I can't find it anywhere in Australia. Can somebody please make me a custom tour with the majority of USPGA tour courses and also British Open(St Andews) and Australian Open (Royal Melbourne) for the player Greg Norman for tw08. I understand that all I need is the 07 gcf file (plus a list of courses on the file so that I can install them on tw08). any help would be much appreciated. just attach the zip of the gcf file to a post so it can be downloaded. thanks |

hi...
I think you really will have to install TW06 to get it to work. Maybe you can find TW06 for PC on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3872.m570.l1313&_nkw=tiger+woods+06&_sacat=See-All-Categories
Note: Be sure to look for TW06 for PC, there are also TW06 games for other platforms. |
