There are a good number of folks here that have created files for IN GAME changes ie. 11 point slider bar, different meters, scorecards, blimps, etc. I know the one thing that bothers most people who play this game is searching for a course when you start a game. Clicking one by one alphabetically looking for that course to play can be the biggest pain. There is nothing worse than when you have 300, 400 or 500 courses and you want to play Wolf Creek. Click click click click click click forever. Now the million dollar question. With all the brainpower here can't someone come up with a slider or scroll bar that would allow you to blow past courses to get to the one you want to play? Anyone have skills making flash programs? I think it can be done but who can do it? |

I don't understand this problem, you can sort the whole list by name or by the most downloads or even by ranking to find the course you want. I find the course I want within seconds, not within click, click...

Linkspro is not talking about the courses on coursedownloads site, but about the courselist inside TW08 game. When you have a lot of courses installed in TW08, you will have to do a lot of clicking to find the course you want inside TW08 game. The reason is that the courses are listed with the logos. In TW06 and TW07 it was much easier to find a custom course in the courses list, because they are listed with the coursename text. |

Oh, sorry LinksPro. Yes, I see now what you mean. Theres no solution for that I think. But there is a trick you can use: Go in TW Caddie, CL Setup 06 or CL Setup 07 (;depending on what version you are playing) and click Uninstall courses. By doing so, You WILL NOT uninstall anything, but just display the menu of the courses. They are listed alfabetically with a + sign to mark stock courses. The same with the libraries.
Tip: In TW Caddie you dont need to click anything when launching: the menu appears immediately.
Hope this helps, XenonS |

Sorry XenonSurf. I'm not understanding what you are saying. I used TW Caddie. If I click uninstall course it will delete the course from the game.
To Gunpower61. If I manually remove the logo.dds file from each course, what would show in its place when I launch the game and go to choose a course? |

LinksPro,
right: if you do it, it will delete a course. But that's not what you want isn't it? Instead if you see the menu you are done for what you want: all courses alfabetically. It's exactly like I said.

there are 2 graphics and one text file that appear on the course selection / course settings page
with no logo.dds file - it shows an empty placeholder - nada same as if there were no splash.tga or splash.dds or no coursename.txt file - the space is still there, just nothing in it
for me - easiest thing is to uninstall the course but NOT the libraries (;as a lot of the same libs are used in different courses)
then if you need to just install the course - it takes a few seconds regardless of which installer you use |

"for me - easiest thing is to uninstall the course but NOT the libraries (as a lot of the same libs are used in different courses)" | Same here. I never have more than 20-30 courses installed at any time. I prefer getting to know a course and mastering it first -- knowing pin placements, the various green slopes, where to lay up etc. -- before moving on to play others. |

Thanks for all the suggestions but we play different courses every day. Sometimes two or three each day. Tournaments use older courses. Everyone wants to play the newest courses. I don't mind having 300 to 400 courses, just hate having to click through each one to find the one I want to play. Back to my original post. Can anyone make a slider or scroll bar to zip through the courses? |

been asked many times over the years - which is why i replied with the work around such as it is
the game uses the up/down arrows, 10 courses/logo maximum anything else would involve changes at the software code level |

I guess its not possible to make the game start from TW Caddie? This would be great and solve this issue. But then: can it be made to load for a specific course? Difficult.

"I don't mind having 300 to 400 courses, just hate having to click through each one to find the one I want to play." | That's fine. My point is you create issues when you install so many courses. It's a bit like asking how to make your dining room chairs strong enough to support your 400 lb pet gorilla. Well the answer is you just don't let him sit at the table to eat. ;) |
