For some unknown reason, my TW08 game freezes in the LAN mode. Everything runs smoothly right up to selecting the course. After I set the course conditions and hit Done, nothing happens , I get a frozen screen. Even when I hit my key that normally gets me back to my desktop, nothing happens. I have to hit CTL/ALT/DELETE to get my Task Manager up, and it shows TW08 not responding. I've tried different courses and get the same results. I can play normally in the Custom Mode and the Practice Mode. I have rebooted multiple times and even used Restoe Point to return my system to an earlier time. So far , nothing is working. Any ideas out there ?? I have an Asus laptop, windows 7 , I-7 processor, 4 GB ram, Radeon HD5730 graphics card. Thanks, Glenn |

Are you trying to play someone on your personal network, or at another location? If inside your own network, LAN play is possible. But anything else needs to be played as IP to IP. |

You can also play with friends on Gameranger, see link below:
http://www.gameranger.com/
Gameranger had some problems on win7, but i believe everything sorted now.
Some other people are using a program called Hamachi to play with friends. |

I have been playing on Lan for a long time. I'm not playing on a network to make it not work. I practice on Lan because it gives you online conditions and club distances. I play hamachi, Gameranger, CGX Launcher, TigerTool Golf4fun launcher. I've played these for over a year,and all of a sudden my screen freezes after I choose the course and pick the conditions. I hit NEXT and everything freezes. It doesn't matter if I'm playing on a network and playing alone on Lan just for practice. It freezes everytime at the same location. I suspect a corrupt file in my Lan operations and will probably have to uninstall and reinstall TW08.....just wanted to see if anyone has experienced this before I have to start from scratch. |

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks edintampa4....that post is exactly the problem that I am having. Unfortuneately, it doesn't give the solution to the problem. This happened to JustinCase702 and I have displayed his post below.....JUSTIN.....if you see this message...send me a pm or my Skype name is birdmanglenn;
JUSTIN'S POST:
Up to a couple of days ago I was playing TW08 via LAN with no problems. Sunday night I was playing on LAN just fine. That night I recieved an update from Adobe. After I installed it I didn't play on LAN for a day or so and didn't know there was an issue ( didn't expect there to be one and don't know if the problem is from Adobe). The problem that occured out of knowwhere is: I can't log on to LAN at all. After setting the course and condtions then NEXT to load game on LAN the game freezes up and cannot minimize to desktop, only way out is to "Ctrl-alt-delete" to task manager and force game to close. I have tried reinstalling game, no luck.
I have tried system restore back a month b4 this happened and no luck, removed adobe flashplayer - reader etc. and game will play off line without flashplayer just fine but still not on LAN, reinstalled all adobe that was removed one at a time and still no luck. I have checked all network conections, ran diagnosics etc., check firewall settings etc.
This same problem happened to me about 2 months ago and I had no clue if it might be Adobe that time,reinstalled TW08 from scratch and after every trick I tried and all my tech friends tried I had to restore PC back to original factory setup and reinstall game from scratch, then game worked on LAN again until other day.
Any help would be appreciated and my Skype name is JustinCase702 if calling me would be better if you can help me. I really don't want to reformat from factory again.

Not sure it will help but it is worth to try:
On desktop go to TW08 shortcut ( icon )....right click the icon and choose: Properties.....compatibility....and check box: Run as administrator |
