| I'm playing TW 08 on windows 7 64 bit, Dual core processor, 4 gig memory, Gforce 8600 GTS. Every so often my game will pause for about 2 seconds in the game and in the menus also. Not sure when it started because I have not played alot lately. I re-installed and still getting the pauses. I can still play but is getting annoying. I will hit a shot and everything pauses on the screen but when it un- pauses the ball has kept going so it may be in the hole or in the water but I did not get to see it land. Any ideas on how to fix? I also tried a new graphics driver. |

Hi Smokey
Is your video card 256 mb or 512 mb or 1024 mb?
Geforce 8600 gts is a very good card, but when it is only 256 mb it is on the edge to play the custom courses.
This is what you can try:
Start TW08 and on Main screen go to: Options......Graphics
And move slider a bit to the right side: Best performance (; move slider a bit to the right )
Also good idea to do the confidence folder fix:
When you start playing TW08 game, it is important to know there is a bug in the game:
When you played some courses you will see the loading times between holes are increasing, the game will become slower and slower.
Do next steps to solve the problem:
On desktop you will see folder: My documents........
inside look for: Tiger woods PGA tour 2008....and inside go to folder: Career.
Inside Career go to folder: Players.......and inside look for your playersname folder.
Now you will see folder: Confidence.....and inside you will find files:
Hole Type.tcn......and.....Shot type.tcn
Now right click both files (; hole.tcn +Shot type.tcn) and delete both files.
When you did this: restart TW08 game and play 1 hole on any stock course and close TW08 game.
Go back to same confidence folder and you will see both files are regenerated: but now they are very small size (; 85kb or something like that) Now right click both files (; Type.tcn......and.....Shot type.tcn) and choose : Properties....and check box: READ ONLY. Do this for both files. |

| The card is a 256. I have had the confidence file fix and has been happening on stock courses. It honestly does not seem like a resource issue. I have not had this trouble before and have played quite a bit in the past. It seems that it is just a pause and not a stutter. I run MLB 2K11 fine. Thanks for the help. I did turn the graphics down just to make sure and still the same. It also happens in the main menue. Pauses when moving the cursor and selecting. Again thanks for the help! Any other ideas? |

I am surprised it also happens on the stock courses.
Maybe you have a lot of background processes running ?
You can see the background processes when you right click the taskbar on bottom of desktop (;right click taskbar...taskmanager ) |

Hi smokey
Try video card driver...186.18...at the nVidia site.
Hope this helps. I and others have found that updateing
drivers to much cause's problems.

| Doing 100% better now. I ran some Advanced System Care programs such as registry fix and closed some applications in task manager (alot of things running)and it is as smooth as ever. Thanks everyone for your help! |
