| I have the TW08 game installed on both of my computers. Om the older machine I am running the game on XP home 32 bit using a 22" View Sonic widescreen monitor with 1680x1050 native res. This machine has an Nvidia 7950 GT card with the latest driver installed. The ingame video resoloution settings allow me to set the game at 1680x1050 res. I also have the game installed on my newer machine using XP 32 bit Pro, using a 52" LCD TV with native resolution of 1920x1080. It has dual 9800 GTX cards installed. I diaable SLI when running TW08 because the game is not coded for SLI. When going into the ingame video settings on this machine, the highest res. setting available is 1280x1024. Curious as to why I am unable to run at higher res.? |

Hiya Jurgie...
Are you starting the game with the Nointro ? (; Nointro will skip clips etc...at startup ).
When you are using the Nointro, TW08 will not update the best settings in the game at startup, and will not update the highest available resolutions. |

| I did a clean install on the XP Pro Platform. The game had never been installed on this drive before. I did not mess with the Intro. As I mentioned before, on my older machine running XP 32 bit Home on a 22" Viewsonic widescreen I am able to select 1680x1050 Res. within the ingame video settings. I am not sure why I am not able to do so on my LCD widescreen TV. I run most of my other games at 1920x1080 on this screen. |

You will likely need to apply the Widescreen patcher to get to the higher resolution. And you won't be able to select the higher resolution while in game, you will need to set it at 800x600 and the WS patcher allows the game to run at the higher resolution even though the in-game resolution says 800x600. |

| I am pretty familiar with the Universal Patch and used it in my TW04, TW05 as well as my TW06 games. DivotMaker is absolutely correct in stating tha prior to applying the patch you had to go into your ingame video section and set the resoloutions to 800x600 as stated, in order for the patch to take effect. Once the patch was initiated, you were able to run the game at 1680x1050 res. The patch profiler only makes mention of TW04 and TW05, however, the patch also worked perfectly in TW06. As DivotMaker also mentioned, these higher resoloutions never were reflected within the games video settings and had to be left at the 800x600 setting. It was just visually obvious that you were running the game at a much higher res. I am not positive about TW07, but I do know that widescreen capability was already coded into the TW08 game. It was not necessary to apply any patch. However, I have never heard of anyone who is able to run this game at higher res. than 1680x1050. Never that is until now. One member in this forum claims that he is running the game with his native LCD res. of 1920x1080 using the Universal Patcher. If you read this post, there are a few of us who would be interested on how you were able to accomlish this. On my 22" Viewsonic Monitor I am able to set the game to 1680x1050 within the game. On my 52" LCD TV it only allow me 1280x1024 ingame setting, Very Strange. |
