Hello my name is Steve and i recently installed TW 2008 on my pc. I didnt really enjoy the gameplay as much as my console so i decided to uninstall it.
However when ever i open my web browser i get a popup asking me to login to the easports forums with my username and p/w.
I have done a full uninstall. Searched for any EASO files and found none, but this annoying popup happens every time.
Any suggestions on what i could try next?
Thanks |

Thanks for the replys, no luck yet. I installed the game from dvd. Its almost like spyware or something. I will try running some spyware removal to see what shows up. |

There are hidden EA Sports folders/files installed when using Windows 7. Do a program search and type in Hidden Folders. Youll see instructions on how to activate hidden folders, after which can you at least see what youre dealing with. Hidden EA files should be located: C:/Program Data. |

there are no hidden files/folders from EA when installing TW in Win7 its the same way microsoft has made their default file view for many years
open any folder and click tools, folder options, view from the main windows explorer menu bar there you can choose to view hidden folders or not and also choose to keep them hidden or viewable for all folders
nothing new here ============================ bing - a screenshot would help - but almost sounds like your browser homepage has been set to the ea forum login page |

Not sure what youre meaning to say with this post. The purpose here is to help the OP identify all the EA files and folders that might be causing his popup issue. The simple fact is Electronic Arts dumps a couple of folders into the Program Data folder. By default, the Program Data folder is hidden. And as I stated, in order to view/delete those hidden folders, one simply has to change the settings in Folder Options to Show Hidden Files, Folders And Drives. |

Thanks for the help so far. I have attached a screen shot of the popup. Happens when i open the browser, within 10 seconds of it opening.
In regards to the hidden files, there is one file in the Programs Data>Ea sports folder. GameData.enc ???? Should i delete this?
I have uninstalled the other ea game which i do not play anymore, and this is the only file left, the ea folder in program files removed itself with the uninstallation.
Again thanks for the help. |

I do run a backup, but its not really up to date and i dont want to lose anything. I am thinking of uninstalling the browser and reinstalling. |

Have you checked your Firefox Add-ons to see if there is some kind of add-on that is causing that?
The other thing you may want to check is your live.com account. I notice in the screenshot that your Firefox browser is saying that it is waiting at login.live.com. I am wondering if possibly something was added to your live.com account to the EA forum and it is prompting for your login info to the EA forum to get the latest posts. Just a shot in the dark, but maybe it is a possibility??? |

sorry, your phrasing sounded like EA was hiding them, when it's MS that defaults to the that folder during installation (install, not dump btw), unless the user chooses another location.
so please save your lecture, it's not helping the OP who did uninstall the program, and hence there are no EA files to be found
jsjarvis has the correct answer imo - it's nothing to do with EA or the TW game - it's the EA forum link and a saved browser login activity

Okay a summary of what i have tried: - uninstall firefox and reinstall - completely uninstall all ea games on pc - clear history, cookies etc. - run virus/malware scan - deleted all saved logins/passwords in firefox
No luck at all so far. IN regards to the login.live issue, i believe that i must have clicked my favourite before i took the screen, so in actual fact the login.live has nothing to do with it. My home page is google, and the popup comes up as soon as i open it now. I just cannot think of anything else. This only happened after TW2008 was installed. |
