I am trying to install the download version of TW08 on my laptop running windows 7 64 bit. After about 30 seconds the installation stops and I get a message saying it will not install without direct x 9c or above. I have downloaded direct x 4 or 5 times but I still get the same message. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

forum search for directx leads to a few, including the basic fix above
note it is directx, not direct x
