There appears to be a corrupt library file in the 06 course Biella Forest which I have found to be one of the most challenging courses I have ever played. The 747flyby library doesn't seem to work. Is there a fix for this? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated as I have several friends (and myself included) that would love to play this one and collectively we can't figure out how to fix it.
Thanks in advance,
Kirby

Thanks for reuploading the library but when I tried to install it I got a message that reads

"Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

The given path's format is not supported."

I did go into the libraries folder in program files and deleted the old 747 library first to avoid over writing. It seems that the original error I got was telling me that there was something going on in C:programfiles and something to do with Kevin England?

Thanks again for the quick response to the query and any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you just delete the original 747 library? Did you do an uninstall of that library from the Caddie program as well? Just deleting the file does not properly delete the library. You have to remove it from the Caddie, which removes the Windows Registry entries that are made when courses/libraries are installed.

OK, this is a question I should have asked from the start. What version of TW are you trying to install this into? TW2006, 07 or 08? I know that not all TW2006 courses will work in 08 if that is the game you are trying to install it into.

I havent tried installing that particular library in a long time. That is the only version of it that I have.

I should have told you I was trying to install it into the 08 game again my bad. I had a friend who works in the computer industry and he was able to make this course work in the 08 game, but since then I've had a major crash and had to reinstall everything and of course he has since moved. I have attached a screenpic of the error that I am getting when I try and load this particular course. My caddy says that all the libraries are true but it keeps pointing directly to the 747flyby library. I have also included what I believe to be an "older" copy of the library in question. I think the original library was created by Kevin England? Is it possible that TruBluMich recreated the library?
I guess the only other thing I can think of is for you to try and load the course and libraries and see if you can get it to work or if I am simply trying to paddle upstream against a strong current. Thanks once again for your help.

The version of the library I reuploaded last night is the original library file from back when it was released in 2002. It was a library that was created by TruBluMich for the TW2002 game.

I did not see the screen pic that you mentioned showing the error.

OK, I think I know what is going on...

Back in 2002 when that library was created everyone was still learning how to create courses and libraries using the new Course Architect and Library Creator. One thing with the Library Creator was that if you didnt give your library a name within the LC it took the path where your library was created and that was the name that was given to the library. That is why when you look in the Caddie for the libraries needed for this course you are seeing something that looks like C:\Program Files\Kevin England for the name of the library, the library which is 747 Fly By.

The way the Caddie works is to read the name of the library from the TCL file and create a folder with that same name. Well, it cant do that with the name that is in the TCL file (;the C:\Program Files\Kevin England) because of the \ signs. I have taken a hex editor and edited this library to give it the name 747 Fly By in the TCL file. There is one unfortunate thing with this. When using a hex editor on files like this you cant delete characters. To do so would screw the file up and make it not work. So I had to add a whole lot of trailing spaces to the name so it the name has the same number of characters as the original name.

With all of that said, I was able to get the library installed and got the course to load in 08. I want you to try it before I upload this version as the new 747 Fly By. If you look in the Caddie for the required libraries for this course you will still see that funky name for this library, but as long as you see 747 Fly By in your Installed Libraries area it should work just fine.

WORKS!!!
I can't tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to figure this one out, I can assure you the work is appreciated.
So just to let you know I uninstalled the course using the caddy and said yes when it asked if I wanted to get rid of all associated files, deleted the folder in c:programfiles....
reinstalled the course and then added the amended library (without deleting the original 747flyby library, course loaded flawlessly and I was able to play the Biella. I only hope that there are others that have paid attention to this thread, the time you took to help make it playable again and will take advantage of a terrific course.
