EA had indicated that some of the reasons for not continuing TW series past 08 for the PC was 1) piracy issues 2) emphasis on profits with the new console market as the future of gaming. (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)
If that were true why continue the EA PC series past 2008, for NBA, NHL and FIFA soccer thru 2011? Please explain this to me? Not worried about piracy and console markets for those games? only TW08. Can anyone explain this to me?
Another question; Is it easier to create an online game for golf, with stationary figures, versus the movement of over 10 plaers at once? Is it more difficult to stream those platforms? Does that have something to do with it.
Now if someone quotes volume of units sold for TW08 versus FIFA 08 or the others I would appreciate the link or source of that data. I need facts. I doubt the NBA, NHL, FIFA PC games would be more popular than golf? Not to mention EA also ended the Madden 08 football series that year another game difficult to stream?
What happened? Madden 08 Football PC and TW 08 Golf PC remain still the best games to play versus their inferior console 2010 versions and of course the awful TW 10 online game still improving into its second year. |

There have been NO EA Sports games on PC since 08. However, FIFA 11 is coming out on PC and I can't understand how they can develop a Next Gen version of FIFA on PC on DVD and not do the same for TW PC. Great question.
As far as TW08 PC being better than TW10 for consoles, if you say so. However, IMO TW08 for PC is nowhere near as good or as challenging as TW11 in TOUR Pro, especially using the PS3 Move motion controller. Breaking Par in TOUR Pro with the PS3 Move is a real achievement and is as close to a simulation of Golf as I have ever played.
As far as TW Online is concerned, I have not played that game since TW11 was released except when I am overseas and nowhere near a PS3 or XBox 360....I have completely abandoned that game as its "evolution" simply has not taken place or if it has, it is NOT the evolution I and many of you were hoping for and I see nothing to indicate a change in "evolution" towards anything resembling a PGA TOUR game or simulation whatsoever.... |

All excellent points D, except in my opinion, TW11 for the PS graphically stinks..
Also, let us all not forget how long it took the TW series for the pc to evolve into TW 08. ; ) |
