I know this has been covered before, but it seems the latest was in 2009. With new cards on the market and new prices for older cards I figure to make a fresh thread.
Here's what I've got:
Videocard: ATI integrated AMD 690G Radeon X1200 Processor: Athlon 64 4400+ Mainboard: ASUS M2A-VM HDMI Memory: DDR800 - 2 GB Soundcard: onboard Realtek High Definition Audio PSU: Thermaltake Purepower 500 Monitor: ASUS VH235 23" LCD 1920x1080
All this works fine for most TW08 play, but I do keep my Options/Graphics at about 80% toward Best Performance and everything else in that panel turned OFF. Even with that, running at 1280 (the highest I can choose in the game), some customs are too laggy to play, most notably recently Wolf Creek. The monitor is new here, an upgrade from a 19" CRT. So, I want to be able to run at 1600 with better visual quality and with no lag even on complex customs. I don't want to change the motherboard, CPU, power supply or RAM if I can help it, so a new graphics card seems the ticket.
I do have requirements for a new card.
1. it must have HDMI out for my TV, DVI for my PC LCD, and D-SUB for the old CRT 2. ASUS mobo specs say an ATI card is required for multiple monitors 3. my budget for a new card maxes out at about $75
Over here, under Supported Video... Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 Demo: Readme http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sports/tigerwoodspgatour08/readme.html?sid=6181280 they don't list any 'modern' cards as Supported, so I don't know.
But here's a snap of the cards I'm considering over at the egg. Maybe they're all overkill and I should look for a very cheap used card? Any and all suggestions very much appreciated:

After much research, and talking with ASUS tech about the compatibility of the 5450 with this mobo (yes), I took a chance and ordered a Sapphire HD 5570, much faster, for $67 at the egg after a $10 MIR. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102874 I'll report back after it's done.
Good luck to me...................... |

Very good choice i believe.... Should work very well on TW08.
On my second PC (; AMD 64 Athlon ) i am using: Sapphire Radeon HD 5450. I can play TW08 without problems (;also the custom courses) on average settings.
Sapphire Radeon HD 5570 is performing much better compared with HD 5450, so i am sure you will be able to play the game TW08 on higher settings. I also noticed they added a fan on the HD 5570 card, good improvement.
Good article and compare on link below:
