Hey guys, Just wondering are there any players as dissapointed as I am with PGAX? I know those guys over there are working very hard to get this right but if I would've known then what I know now, I think I would have waited to subscribe if at all! Also some of those people over there are very con-desending (no names) but I know I'm older now and my reflexes are not what they used to be so you guys waiting the novice tour over there may take awile. Don't get me wrong there are some good people over there thats really trying hard to help they know who they are but others the novice level is below them!!! Guess I've gripped enough but have one more thing to say still waiting for the "(but better)". Rick |

There are a few members over at PGAX who couldnt find their way out of a ..... well, nuff said. They dont represent the majority, theyre just a vocal minority who happen to be , well, . vocal. Dont pay em any mind. BG is right,........ Jim and Andy will get it going, and know that there ARE a lot of good folk over there. Stick with it, Rick, and it will pay dividends in the end.
Otto
If youre really unhappy about the way things are over there........... send Andy a PM........ Im sure hell be happy to refund your contribution. |

We are sorry for your frustration Rick, however, we always said our expert tour would come first and our priority was to ensure that ran as smoothly as possible following the EASO shutdown.
All staff at PGAX are working extremely hard to bring the membership new tours, new courses and new launchers, it is just taking a bit of time. We only had a one month notice period to get this all into play which simply has not been enough time.
The good news is that we are only about 2 or 3 weeks away from introducing the novice/intermediate tour so hang on in there.
If you are still concerned however, please feel free to email Jim or myself or RobC or even Ronbrug and we will help out in whatever way we can.
Kindest regards
Zee Senior staff PGAX |

I think Ricksown is just a bit bumed. I joined PGAX about a month ago, and i'm also waiting for Novice/Inter. But I check the site every day to keep up with what is going on. And DO SEE that Andy, Jimbo, Zee, davy, and other's are working VERY VERY HARD, AND LONG HOUR'S to get the site up and running FOR ALL LEVEL'S.
And I new going in that EXPERT came first. I'm paid up till 2012, so I'm sure I have alot of golf ahead of me.
Those fellows have done a tremendous amont of work in a very short time. Sure I would like to have had it done "yesterday" but hey 2 or 3 more weeks to get it squared away, I can wait. EVERYONE must remember PGAX was hit with many hundreds of new members with all the same questions.
Just getting EVERYONE signed up was enough of a nitmare, then getting the new LAUNCHER up and running. Instructing everyone about how to play with other folks, not just the tournaments by yourself, and on and on,etc etc.
Just keep going to the PGAX site, read the FORUMS and other areas of the site...In the end It will work out...

I guess my only question would be, how secure that launcher would be and who would be responsible for any discrepancy... |

An interesting point considering there were some server probs on PGAX today...
Jim, Andy and some of the other main guys at PGAX have being doing a hell of a job trying to get something up & running for folks to play a little cyber golf. Yup, there an interesting character or 2 over there, but all in all its good. |

There has been alot going on at PGAX since the EASO servers went down. And the server going down Friday morning didnt help. But I will say that PGAX is the best tour out there. No cyber golf tour does what they do. The mere fact that we play the same course the pro do each week. No other tour has that. There are definitly alot of different personalities there if you become friends with the right people you will enjoy your experience alot more.
As for the launcher Boze. Nobody and do anything to manipulate there scores. Not even Jim can.
And actually the sign up for nov/inter/advanced tours were posted today at PGAX. So if you are still interested sign up for whatever level you like. |

I am on staff at PGAX (;Players Representation & Support), which is quite an honour. All staff there are volunteers, (;just as they are here and at Clambakers, TWC etc. etc. ). I think they all do a great job, and yes, there are different personalities. Thankfully the different personalities take great care to work with each-other and not against each-other. It is quite unique, and mostly over-rides any negative finger pointing that may occur.
I also am a member. I paid the (;paltry sum of) $20, for which I receive so much: A great Tour,A new course every week (;real, current tour course which has been tested, Teamspeak, Hamachi, so much incredible support from people with many skills, great friendship etc. etc.
I used to pay as much as $80 a year for a DVD disc and none of the above... so I kinda find it difficult to comprehend complaints about the $20.
However, I play expert and I have a tour, so that is the difference and that is where I can see the OPs point. The other levels ARE coming. As mentioned we only had one months notice, and in that time have managed to get one level working and get through the many problems associated with it. If we had tried to do all levels at the same time is would have failed.. there is only so much one can do.
Jimbo and Andy have done most of the recent work, and ther rest of us have done our best to support them. They havent even had time to train us in these new systems, which leaves them carrying the can, but soon we hope that more of us can get trained and actualy help where and when it matters.
it is important, I believe, to differentiate between DONATING $20 toward a common goal, run by volunteers who are doing their best to achieve what we all want, and PAYING $60 to a big Corporation for a product you are dissapointed with !! |

All this for what? The same thing you claim a Big corp. is doing. TWO is trying to evolve the same way PGAX is. I'd say, you slam TWO in more than ways than anyway than anyone here slams PGAX... Yet you have probs for being biased and getting your post removed? Please. |

Guys, I think the original point is being missed here and there is a risk that it may have become somewhat personal.
Each to their own I say. For PGAX, we are not ready to switch to TWO...it does not currently deliver what we need for our specific tour so we found an alternative and choose to continue playing TW08. For others, who do not wish to continue with TW08, well they have the choice to sign up for TWO. Simple as.
This thread started with the original poster simply airing his frustration at not being able to immediately carry on playing his desired level of play in TW08. I responded suggesting we understood his frustration but also reminding him and everyone else that we always stated the expert tour would be our first priority with other levels coming in on the back of it.
We are now inviting him and others to start signing up on the PGAX site for their interest in these other levels as we are very close to their commencement.
Having a pop at one another achieves nothing and hardly answers the OPs question. It would be good to keep this civil. Just MHO.

Boze, I pretty much share Davy's sentiments bout TWO. You , he , and I were all beta testers for a long time, there, so I expect you can understand his consternation with regard to the progress of the game , and the game model that EA has chosen to take.
I've tried to be a little more gentle in my criticism of the game than Davy, but my feelings are pretty much the same. Perhaps the difference is that I'm willing to give it more time, in spite of the direction that the game has been going.
I know you to be a reasonable person, and I hope you can give Davy some slack here......... he's feeling betrayed, as I do from time to time, by EA's model ( seems like a desperate grab for dollars for little value )and I cannot blame him.
I'm hoping that my faith in the dev team is not misplaced........
good on ya, bro, til we meet again..........

Otto, your right. I see progress over on TWO, yes it's not 08 or previous years yet. When I see ones negatives ALL the time, almost wanting to see it fail, is when I have a problem. Look, everyone wanted a new TW and their getting one, just not fully there yet. I remember back a few years ago reading TW forums players were bitching back then also. I'll I ask for is patience if we all want a product in the end.
Be good.

I don't want to come off as just a whinner or complainer, not my point. I guess i was just missing the E/A system ie match-up lobby, toun. room, where you could pick your courses and the people you play with. I agree the tour aspet of PGAX is the best out there and they are working very hard to make it even better but sometimes I just miss playing with other players whose skill level and course selection are the same. Not trying to hurt nobodys feelings or grip about PGAX I appreciate what they have done and are doing. On the other hand at my age (or ignorance) sometimes D/Ling course and round set-up usually takes a couple of times because I missed somthing or hit something wrong, and why not send courses to CDL to be downloaded with caddie. All I was really trying to do was vent frustration about E/A shutdown and how much harder it is to play. Sorry to all offened and thanks to all hard workers trying to get it right. |
