Just tried installing TW2005 in Windows 7. It installed OK but the game will not start. This is strange as TW2004 and TW2006 both work fine in my Windows 7 (32 bit) |

You have to have Windows 7 Professional and download and install the virtual machine and xp software from Microsoft |

Thanks for this info Jimbo. I may be unlike many members here, but I like to play all of the versions of TW PGA Tour from 2002-2008. I thought this was a PC issue when I first encountered it 3 years ago, but discovered that it is a Windows issue. Why all other versions of TW from 2002-2008, minus 2005 work without a hitch is beyond me. All I have to do is find my Windows 7 Professional disc. lol |

Over the past several months I started buying the older versions of Tiger Woods PGA Tour (for PC) to go along with my 10-year old version of TW08. I enjoy playing some of the amazing designer courses available on this fantastic website. I appreciate reading all the interesting tips and comments here. THANK YOU!!!
The only version of TW I cannot get to run on my Win 10 laptop {Dell Inspiron, circa 2013) is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005. I can install it fine. And I know to keep Disc 3 (Courses) in the CD drive when the game starts up. But, after the first TW2005 splash screen, I get a black screen with a blue spinning circle. I thought there would be a way to use "Compatibility Testing" for a sequence of trials. But the only way I regain control of my computer is to Ctrl-Alt-Del and sign out user. I tried manually testing the various Win version compatibility settings. But so far no success. I think my problem may arise from some type of graphics incompatibility??
I am happy to say that Tiger Woods versions 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008 all work well on my laptop. I am hoping a few long-time users have a tip to help me with TW2005.

Thank you for your prompt and helpful reply. I used your /NOINTRO suggestion and then several rounds of Windows Compatibility Mode settings. I was amazed and thrilled that my installation of TW 2005 started working using Windows Compatibility Mode for Windows 98/ Windows Me. Maybe this discussion will help other users with their installation troubles. THANK YOU !!! |
