Hello to all the good folks here. I was hoping for some encouraging words. Will we have a way to go to a lobby and join a game, like we did with EASO? Where you go online, then you get into a lobby and then have choices of who you want to play a game with and what courses you want to play, and at the level you want? This is going to be new to me and could use some insight. Thanks all have a gr8 day. |

I was just trying to figure out how online play will be done now. How do you set up a game with someone? etc. Thank you.. Will that be done here or over at PGAX? |

Ok thanks Pat and Carn. I guess I'll wait and see, maybe I'll ask over at PGAX. I would think someone would know how it works playing online, now that the servers are down.
I take then CS will stay open for everything accept your Tour? So this will still be the place to go to download custom courses?
Giddyup! |

Hi Larry,
As for a "Lobby" as you originally asked, PGAX are indeed looking to create one. Currently they are working on a launcher (as per Clambakers) that allows players to play the tour. One benefit of the launcher is that it tracks most everything you do, so cannot be manipulated in the way the EASO Tournaments could!! PGAX intend to also build a "Match up lobby" to replace EASO, but this is still in development, as the tour needs had to come first. Right now the only way we are managing to play on-line together is via LAN mode using Hamachi as a virtual network.
Probably the best way to keep informed about it is to register on PGAX (registration is free) and follow the progress on the forums over there.
It is a little hard to figure exactly what is going on with the tour (CDT). From what I can tell CDT finished up early because of the EASO Server close down. I "think" I saw briefly an announcement on the CD homepage that there may be some sort of solution being pursued, but this has now gone. The Tour links now go no-where, except for the hall of fame.
Cheers,
Davy |

Dont know why no -one realizes this-- apologies if its been posted already but...:
you can still play online through the game--- select 1-play online../2- LAN/(not the easo) the host gives the other players his/her ip--- 3-they connect through IP. not LAN (there are 2 choices) type in the host ip in the empty box near bottom.
do not try to connect to the host until he has the game set up--- course and pin/conditions etc.. once its set up- you can connect.. you will find yourself in a lobby type room and you will see the host name on the right side.... {click} on the hosts name to highlight it... join... then you can chat until everyone else is in- then the host launches....
this takes basic computer internet skills... if you have 3 other ppl you enjoy golfing with-- one of those people surely will be able to figure out how to host. This works- Ive done it many times... only thing that will make it tough to connect is if you dont know how to get around your firewall- you can make an exception rule for the game...or open a port..
if you want to know your ip for hosting goto: whatismyip.com |
