In light of EA sticking it to the pc community, I thought I'd ask if anyone knew if there was still any internet life left in the PGA Championship Golf line from Sierra. I know it's technology was the basis for the last CA from EA. With EA telling the PCers it's TWO or the highway, I thought I'd see if there was anything out there for one of the competitors from the past. I have looked, but I can't find anything other than reviews. I came across some old e-mails in an old e-mail folder of mine, those e-mails are what has got me searching. They were in regards to the Copyright Club. I know, a blast from the past. I did enjoy this game, and I still have it, but I don't have any courses except the stock ones. I just figured I'd throw this out there, but I don't expect it to amount to anything, but what the heck. |

they still play it on the Kali server and they usually use teamspeak for their talking. Was TS2 a while back, dont know if they went to TS3 yet or not. I do know that Darwin(Tincup), Dave (Hookster) and Ron (Wsoki) are all still playing over there. Just that the game looks a bit stale after playing here. If you need it, I can probably get ya Darwins email address cause he pretty much runs the mygolfer.net site now. Copyright Club is dead and has been shut down now for about 3 yrs. Let me know if you need that address, or you can use the forum at www.mygolfer.net

I just went to that URL and it appears to be a generic golf site with nothing to do with computer golf.
The correct URL is mygolfer.com |

I have just downloaded and played the demo version. With respect to anyone who is still playing this version I feel that this is not the answer for most people playing TW2008. It reminded me of an improved version of Links 2003, but IMO in no way is it as good as TW2008. If people are playing this game on the internet then surely we can play TW2008. |

I never said it was as good as TW08, I'm just looking for ways to boycott EA. They forced every other company out of pc golf, and now they've killed pc golf. I think that justifies a boycott. |

PGA2000 was one of the first games I got for the PC, with the main reason for getting it being the architect, which is where the architect for TW came from.
I still really enjoy this game and do designs for PGA to this day. Some of the coures can look very realistic, and I still think it is one of the more realisitc PC versions of a golf game you can play. I am designing a course for this at the moment and also will have a new one to release for TW08 in a month or so.
I don't have the time anymore to play golf online, because I prefer to spend it designing courses and spending time with my family. I only play PC golf offline now, so the TW Online game won't be a purchase for me. I will play the occasional online game of PGA golf with my dad, as we have spent years palying this one together.
I encourage anyone to download the game from the mygolfer website (it is available for free) and give some of the latest courses a go. You will probably be surprised by it. |

Just how did they do that? You accuse them of forcing every other company out of the market when in fact the other companies could not make a go of a Golf game because whether you choose to believe it or not, Golf and especially PC Golf is a niche' market. The biggest reason EA is still making Golf games is they ponied up the money to have the Tiger Woods name and the PGA TOUR license and they target casual users and simulation users with their products. Their console versions have leaned too heavily to the casual or arcade market recently, but TW11 for consoles will go a long way towards giving simulation users a more realistic experience. TWO is also going to be giving simulation users more of what they are asking for as the game evolves. PC Golf is far from "dead" and EA is not the cause of it, IMO. |

I have gone to the website and tried to download the demo, but all I get is an "URL no longer active" message when I click on the demo link. |

IF anyone is trying to download the PGA game it IS available for download on the mygolfer site. Not sure about the demo however this will install the game. On the mygolfer site click on the PGA den tab, then misc files and then scroll down until you see PGA2000 installation package. That link does work, however the game is over 500 MB so can take some time to download. You will also need to join the site in order to download. If you need help joining email me or PM me and I will get you set up. I will need your desired user name, email , and your desired password. I can set up a generic password if you wish and you can change it afterward. PGA2000 is a really good game, however the graphics are no match for TW. The golf plays pretty much same as TW08 and when I was playing it, I felt there would never be another golf game as good. TW08 changed my mind about that. There are many many courses to download and they are still designing for PGA. The only problem is the server, as will be here soon...:(; Last time i played they were playing on the kali server, which leaves alot to be desired. When I joined, kali required a 10.00 lifetime membership fee. I will NOT be playing the new TW online as I have tried it, and while its not bad... its like a step backward from what I have grown used to. Hope this helps anyone wanting to know more about PGA2000. I will be glad to help any way I can to peeps wanting to check it out. :)

pga championship is not bad,but if u really fancy a change from tiger woods get links 2003,its been updated vastly with mods and player and course downloads since it first came out,the current version people are playing is 107 so get this free download first, the new hd courses are awsome to look at,and the ball phisics is on a par,if not better than tw .the main site for courses and info is links corner.com |
