Is there anyone who plays TW 08 with a higher end video card and has played TW 2010 on either a xbox 360 or PS3 and could compare the graphics? I have a 260GTX and can play everything on high. I have no interest in TWO 2010.I have a HD TV. Would I see enough improvement in the graphics to justify buying a console? Thanks for any info. |

I have a high end rig with a 1GB Radeon 5770 and I also have a HDTV. I also have TW10 for XBox360. The 360 is probably the best of the console versions to date, but in my opinion, you can't come close to comparing it to the PC version. People will say the console version has better graphics, but I don't understand what they are basing their statements on. To me, the PC still rules over any console version. |

I say TW08 for pc over any console version just due to the course limitations on the console versions. I am not interested in TWO at all. Have not been impressed with it. |

not gonna happen bini73, ea is not going to produce any tw PC-DVD games. They have but all of their eggs into the TW-Online basket. I personally think its a shame that the title has died the way it has. I guess it hasnt died totally though, as long as there is a community full of talented designers churning out courses, it will live on. There just wont be anything new for the pc form ea. |

with tiger woods coming to an end in its present format, and ea concentrating on console and browser based formats do u think any1 in the community will bring out patches and game updates for the 08 version the same way the links community are constently updating links golf which in its basic format with no patches is a 10 yr old game but has been brought bang up 2 date with the member created mods and addons,i enjoy playing both games and each has its own plus points but for soley an accurate golf sim i think links has the gameplay over tiger, but i will continue to enjoy and play both as long as the talented guys keep nocking out new courses.. ps cant wait fot tiger woods 11 to hit the wii as the 2010 version was gr8 fun |

Sadly I'm a PC man not a console man............ :(
I just wish that EA would realise that there is still a market here for PC Versions of Tiger Woods. Surely with the problems he's had recently EA need to capitalise on any market they can get so they should not cut out the PC market. As a retired IT person I'm sure the coding process is not that difficult to transfer, what they need is co-operation from the graphics card and PC makers to make upgrading easier.........
Perhaps I'm being too simplistic, but then sometimes the obvious is overlooked by big organisations!!

I have both 2008 pc and Ps3 2010.
PC
Lots of courses.Great graphics and life on the course, moving clouds ,trees,,wildlife. Mature game play and a mature outlook on sim golf overall
PS3
A reasonable amount of courses considering.Graphics are great as well but no life on the course, although the xbox 360 does have movement of branches in the wind PS 3 does not. Game play only as really 2 settings Amateur/Novice and Tour Pro/Intermediate. The biggest fault with the console version IMO the community as a whole as not matured yet compared to the PC version.Although there is a minority that battle for sim golf and less arcade the majority play on Amateur/Arcade settings . Although the arcade setting one would think would be enough to satisfy any arcade player -30 rounds, the purchase of a after market controller with the ability to hit the ball straight every time seems to be the norm, not unlike Edgers in the Pc community but unlike Edgers, it is an acceptable mode of play to the console community.Add to that all the other non sim golf approaches to the game and the game becomes a Dart Fiesta Cheese fest .
If you are looking for a relaxing game of God Mode golf than the PS3 is for YOU
Edit
I should have mentioned that the PS3 version is great off line,EA as put in enough options into the game to make a real challenging sim game off line my above comments referred to on line play |

Best Buy had a sale on the xbox with a 50 dollar gift card and 2 free games and I decided to go for it.TW is my favorite game and if I could have seen a demo of this game in store I would have probably passed. The graphics are not as good as what can be obtained on a pc with a higher end video card.I did see a demo of Madden and it appeared equal to my pc game.
Another annoying factor is locked courses. At this time I don't know if I will try to unlock them.Does anyone have able to state how much effort this is? At least TW 2010 was on sale.
It really is a shame EA abandoned the the PC except for the browser version which does not interest me.After viewing this console game I have gained more more appreciation for 08 and all the custom course designers and their efforts. |
