Does anyone have a solution for very slow loading and unloading during on-line games?

My shot and hole tcn files are both set to read only, and the games plays normal speed after it loads. This is fairly recent phenomena...I haven't added any new programs. I want to blame it on the age of my computer so I can buy a new one...
