The instructions that come up are incomplete... and what and where are "ini" files?

Hi forewheel
I also could not get/figure out this info...I would really like
to get this to work. The waves and spray kicking up on the older
TW games looks really cool. Do not understand why EA did not keep
this in later games. Also the info to change the cup color or the
grid to white was much easy er to understand and follow. Hope
"Gunpower" or "jbcalg" see this post. They are very good at explaining
help stuff like this.

Basically the way it works is this. When you see this in the text file -

[Hole 1 Coastline]
Point0=8691, 0, 5359
Point1=8512, 0, 5686
Point2=8336, 0, 5821
Point3=8172, 0, 5836
Point4=8138, 0, 5795

It means the first wave starts at those first (;Point 0) points. To be more literal, those are coordinates. In the CA when you move the mouse anywhere on the plot you will see these two points, or coordinates, in the lower right part of your screen. Just keep adding points until you reach the end of the area where you want to see waves. Then try it out. After the first few tries, you may need to do some adjusting of how you mark down the points, but it really isnt that difficult. A bunch of us designers used to add these to our courses back in 04 and 05. Now be careful because the game does not care if those points are in water or not. You can make a crashing wave in a bunker if you put the wrong points down - lol. Just look at the above example to see just how far apart these would be while using your mouse.

Hope that helps.

ps - I believe(;?) that the 0 in those coordinates refers to the elevation. So be careful that you put the actual elevation because if you put 0 when it is actually higher, say 100 or so, you will not see the wave because it will be 100 feet below where the water actually is

Hi Gunpower61

THanks for the info on crashing waves, I downloaded the file and followed your instructions. I tryed it in/on TW 07 1st and it worked.
However when I tryed it in/on TW 08 the game moved me (;on the 1st tee)
over onto the cart path. The second hole it moved me to the right of the tee into the rough. So I went to the 18th hole and the game had me standing on the ocean to the left of the tee and no crashing waves. Luckyly I did a restore with the OSs restore program and Pebble Beach seems to be back to normal. No worrys the ocean looks crappy anyway in both TW 07 and 08, so the crashing of waves,no matter how cool, is not a really big deal. BUT MAN IM GLAD THE RESTORE POINT WORK...LOL

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

dawg8/sd4620

P.S. If you have any other Ideas I would be interested in checking them out THANKS AGAIN
