I just installed Windows 7 and have a problem with the game. Let me start out by saying I run dual monitors. About every 3 holes or so I lose the grid. If I click on my other monitor while in a game, the game minimizes. I can click in the taskbar to get the game back up and then I will have the grid. It can be anywhere on the course, not just on the green. Another problem I have is every once in a while my grid lines will be offset. Instead of being on line facing the hole I will be in between lines as shown in this picture. I know I am close to the hole here but it can be from anywhere on the green.
I have a Dell Inspiron PC Intel Core Duo CPU E6550 @2.33Ghz 3 GB Ram 32 Bit Operating System NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS
I installed all new drivers with the new OS. Everything is up to date. |

Thought I would post a picture of another putt from the next game I played. Its a little longer in length so you can see what I meant about not being on line of the putt to the pin.

Have you installed the latest drivers for your video card after moving to Windows 7?
OOps.. just re-read your post........... I assume that you have anti-aliasing turned off?
Also.. try turning the grid off, and then on again......... |

Hmmmmmmmm, don't know what happened. Thought I replied to this post but I don't see it. Oh well, start again. Thanks for the reply Otto. I have the latest drivers as you know. If the grid is on the green when I get there I am able to turn it off and back on again no problem. If the grid is not on the green then I cannot get it on unless I minimize the game to the task bar and reopen it. Here are my graphic card settings.
Antialiasing - Gamma Correction - Use global setting (On) Antialiasing - Mode - Use global setting - (Application Controlled) Antialiasing - Transparency - Use global setting - (Off)
I have one more setting that is grayed out and I cannot change.
Antialiasing - Setting - Use global setting - Application Controlled
Thanks again |

I tried rolling back to a earlier version of the video driver and still no luck. I thought that would do it for sure. Any other ideas? |

Looks like the grid is the white one,go back to the grid that is standered with what came with the game. And see if that helps. And I can see by the pictures that you are not useing antialising or the breaks in the grid would be more smoothed out. A least with Windows XP |

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the new drivers and I still don't have a grid almost every hole. I switched back to the colored grid and that didn't make a difference. I tried a few different settings with the antialising and it didn't help. I didn't want to screw around too much with that because I did that once before on another computer and couldn't see the lines at all. Actually one of the things that happened when I changed one of the antialising settings was my grid had straight lines. Even if the put was on the side of a hill, the lines were straight. That cost me a few strokes...lol
Thanks for the suggestions. Keep em coming. |

The saga continues. I changed the resolution in the game to 1280x768. I now have grid on every green but its not correct. My player looks a lot taller and the shape of everything has changed. Guess I'm going to have to keep it seeing as I have a grid. |

That looks like a custom course, does this happen on stock courses as well? |

you might want to try with one monitor, your video card is entry level, meaning low end,its not that good for 3D games, how much memory does it have 128 or 256MB ? |

Well I spoke too soon. I played a whole game and had the grid everywhere every hole. Started another game today and no grid again. The video card may be a cheapo (128MB) but I never had this problem the 2 years I ran it with Windows XP. Can you recommend a good card to buy, relatively cheap (I'm unemployed). Somewhere around $100 - $125. Thanks Carn. |

I got an GeForce 9800 GT from NewEgg.com a few months ago for 95 dollors 512 mb of memory. But an 8600 GT would do just as well. Get one with as much memory as you can. dawg8
Check driver site to make sure the drivers are combatable with windows 7 |

I ordered a new NVIDEA 9500 GT 512MB PCI Express 2.0 card and a 500 watt power supply today. Total with shipping, tax, and rebate was $89. Hope it does the trick. |
