After moving to Windows 7 I can no longer play TW08 because it crashes constantly. Black screens, Blue error screens, and frozen low res. screens are what I've experienced. I've tried: the latest 3 video card drivers, setting compatibility to windows xp(sp2), disabling desktop composition, disabling visual themes, even uninstalling and re-installing the game and windows 7. It always fails at max. res. of 1680 x 1050. It did work until the latest driver was installed with a 25% lower resolution, at 1280 x 768, but, now fails at that res. too. Neither Microsoft, EA, or Nvidia know what to do about this and hope one of my fellow TW08 enthusiasts does |

Interesting - I installed Windows 7 (32-bit) very shortly after the final release came out (within a few days). I run a 1G Nvidia video card (which I have set at 1680x1050 both for the resolution when I am not running a game and within TW08) and have had no problems.
You aren't by chance running the 64-bit version of 7 are you (there are some folks that I know are having some issues not only with TW08 but other games when installing them on 64-bit versions)? |

I am using 32 bit. However, things have escalated. The computer crashed an hour ago, and I haven't even tried the game in 2 days. Now, I'm leaning toward a hardware issue. |

Black and Blue screen usualy means hardware compatability issues. You may want to post your system specs. One other question, did you run the Win 7 upgrade advisor too see if your machine has compatibility issues?
Heres the link if you havent. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1B544E90-7659-4BD9-9E51-2497C146AF15&displaylang=en |

I had a complete failure immediately upon trying a video card "stress test" recommended by XFX and couldn't even get the computer to start. Since then after much frustration and $$ I had to reformat the hard drive and begin rebuilding - With a new Video Card. XFX wouldn't fix or replace the old one, even though it was only 2 years old. I haven't reloaded the game or any libraries yet.
This time it's an ATI product. Sapphire Radeo HD 5750. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't something like a MotherBoard Bios issue. |

Since there have been so many "views" I thought I'd conclude the issue: The new video card has solved this nightmare. I sent the offending card back to XFX out of principle. They won't take responsibility, or even appologize for a failure of a mid-priced card after 2 years of light use. They don't even want to test it, which I thought may enable some key learning, however,...I remain far from impressed or satisfied with XFX. |

I guess if you've resolved your issue, I wouldn't be hijacking your thread by asking for similar help? I too am having problems, albeit weird. I can play the game fine and have with Windows 7. Lately though, when I finish a round or a challenge and go back to0 the menus, the screen is black. I hear the music, see my cursor and can even try to guess where to click so as to proceed. Just the menu screen is black when I return!

XFX is known for its "double- lifetime warranty", which supposedly warrants the card even after the resale of the card. What they don't talk much about is the fact that the company won't even warrant the card once unless you register the card online within 30 days. The web is replete with folks pronouncing that they'll never buy another product from XFX under any circumstance....... and rightly so,, that policy is designed to sidestep any honest warranty claim. |
