Here's the deal...
we have a small club and most of the members are in the 'Minors' level, but a couple of us are in the 'Legend' level SO... I was trying to come up with a way that we could all play a tournament using a handicap system. I don't expect to be able to manipulate the actual winner per the leader-board, but to adjust after the fact to make the tournament so the lower level folks would stand a chance if you know what I mean.
Not very plausible that a Minors 1 would beat a Legend 8 for example, but if you gave the lower level players some strokes to kind of even it up, it would be more fair.
So, without keeping a handicap database where everyone actually turned in a card to build up a handicap, is there a way to adjust based on the EA level and/or ranking? I couldn't even find where it listed all of the levels and what it took to get to that level.
Anyway, if anyone has some thoughts or knows of a way to create a matrix that would do this, please let me know.
Thanks, SinBad1956 Swilcan Burn GC CM

Hi Sinbad.... I am not a tour expert, but i know how to set up an easy handicap system. First of all: minor.....all star....legend... tells nothing about the skills of a player, you can t use that. You reach the minor....all star etc.....by earning tokens,it tells only how many games you played.
The real levels are: Novice.....Intermediate....advanced....Expert. So all of your players will have to play the same level (; Novice, Intermediate, Advanced...or Expert ) For example set up a handicap tour on Novice level. First it is good idea to play a few Qualify rounds to determine the handicap of all your players. For example 2 rounds: Player A results for both rounds: -6 -10 Handicap average: -8 Player B results for both rounds: -4 -8 Handicap average: -6
After that you can start the handicap tour (; with the Handicap average of the Qualify rounds ) For example the first handicap tour results: Player A: -6 (;His handicap was -8).....so his handicap score is: +2 Player B: -7 (;His handicap was -6).....so his handicap score is: -1
So player B is the winner.
Next week when you play round 2 of handicap tour you will have to recalculate the handicap average: Player A: -8(;qualify rounds )....-6(; round1 tour): new handicap: -7 (; average of -8 and -6 )
Player A: -6(;qualify rounds )....-7(; round1 tour): new handicap: -6.5 (; average of -6 and -7 ) |

Thanks for the reply Gunpower61, that's a great idea. I've setup a two round qualifier, so we'll see how it works out.
Thanks again.
