Hi All!

I've started to play TW 08 again. But I've noticed that when playing practice takes a lot less hit on my PC than when playing a normal stroke/tournament play event. And the only difference between the 2 is: crowds.

So, does anyone maybe know a way to permanently disable crowds in all forms of the game? Because when setting '3d Gallery Distance' to 'Off', the crowd is still present. And as I really couldn't care less whether there is a crowd or not, I would like to disable this.

Any help would be appreciated greatly concerning this matter.

Greetings

Thanks a LOT my friend! :))) will try this in about 7 hours when at home...

Just a question about this file: does it actually remove all galleries, or just make them invisible while still being rendered, thus using extra CPU?

Also, does it remove the playback sounds as well? As this is no doubt a hit on the CPU as well.

But this is a great patch if it works as wished! Thanks bangus...

Another thing that may be troubling you (and forgive me if you already did this) is the loading times workaround:

Thanks Bob! Luckily this isn't the 1st time I am playing this so it's the 1st thing I do.

And I do it even faster than normal as I do it when it gets created the first time, i.e. not having to delete and restart a game and then setting it, but rather making it read-only for each player the first time they step onto the tee for the first time.

And thanks Bangus - that helped a marvellous lot, it runs way better now!

So are there any other ways than these to get my game to run any smoother?

You guys are extremely helpful... :)

You might try this... GameBooster... it stops the unnecessary stuff from running, leaves more memory for the game

Hi bangus

I downloaded the file (;it is in winrar zip file)and can not
figuer out how to install. Any help would be great. Also can
the file be uninstalled. Maybe through control panel-add and remove
area. If it messes up the game

any help would be great

Extract the zip file to desktop, you will see a Read Me file and a Program Files folder...
... If you installed Tiger Woods in the default path, just follow the instructions

READ ME
>>This archive contains Course Life System files for the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08 game. These files will turn off the zombie galleries while leaving all other CLS functions for each course active.

The file paths in the archive assume you have installed TW 08 into the Program Files\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses directory. If you have, you can extract all files directly at the top level of your hard drive (;usually letter C), being sure to Use Folder Names.

For Windows XP and Vista users, you can right click on the archive and select Extract All, then choose your drive (;usually C), then click the Next buttons and accept the overwrite dialog warnings.<<

Dawg8:

Literally just extract the ZIP/Rar file called '215_nogalleries08' to the C:\ drive, or whichever drive letter the game is installed - it will prompt you to overwrite existing files, then just say 'Yes to All'.

NB: The game NEEDS to be installed in the X:\Program Files\EA Sports directory, where X is the drive letter. Otherwise this will not work.

That's all that is needed.
