Hi all,
Mods let me know if i posted in wrong spot. I read a toot on paintshop about makeing new game faces on this site. Although I dont have paint but it did get me thinking. About the dds files and what I could or couldnt do. So I did a serch for the dds plugin and sure enough there was one for photoshop which I do have. I have finished my first leader board and want to share the end results with you. |

... be careful what you wish for :)
i see thats being used in 2004 game ? prior to 08, and to a lesser extent 07 - there were many scorecard, leaderboard etc type of user modifications
in 07, EA changed how those game graphics were put together, and further complicated them in 08 making it a real chore to design, and also for users to incorporate into their game (;more screens, layers, etc to modify)
certainly good work, and perhaps you could check the Utilities sections to see other early examples ... but per above, the number of them submitted in more recent versions has dwindled considerably unfortunately |

Yes it 2004 and I am working on 2006. But I didnt even know about this stuff was possible untill I saw this site. So this is all new to me and I am haveing some fun. And want to share my progress and learn more about it. The toots only go so far I still have not found the answer to how many pins to set on a course. |

not a designer ... but i'd go for at least one per hole LOL
some designers (and i'm sure some will chime in) opt for 4 per hole, others as many as 10 as i recall form previous discussions |

| There's no consensus as JB mentioned. I prefer 4 for testing purposes and wouldn't suggest using less than that. You can use up to 10. |

Thanks
I started loading them like 100 at a hole and decide long before I made the last post that, that was too many. And op for 10, I am still thinking that is too much cause game keep choose the same pin. How do I get the game to choose a different pin location???? |

pin selection depends on whether you choose easy, moderate, difficult, very difficult (on EASO, fewer choices in other modes) and various weather conditions (not tested this)
and depends what setting you use for each in CA - pin numbering is easy = even (starting at 0) and difficult (odd numbers)
on EASO, moderate is mix of easy/difficult not sure how EASO selects pins for very difficult
so, you should see some different pin locations depending on the various settings in CA and in game |

4 seems to work for me, I would hate to have to try and make sure 10 pins are playable.
I have 2 difficult and 2 semi easy (some will say, there all easy. lol)
I don't know how to have a particular pin come up when testing a course in practice mode.
Since I have 2 difficult pins, I just have to reload until the one comes up I want.

Here a sneak peak of BigFoots Revenge. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BigFoots Revenge is fantasy course made to look and feel like a real course. I am new at this whole design thing so any helpful suggestion or comments are welcomed.
I do have a question. Is there any toots for library creator.. I would like to make some benches and stuff. But dont know how to design 3d objects for 2004 and 2006 TWG.
This first shot is an Over view of Course. |
