Finally may have found an answer on page 6, looking into this solution by gunpower61.
I recently had to build a new computer in the last year, so for the most part I went for the top equipment. Was playing TW07 for the custom season I could still create, but finally moved onto 08 for the newer courses being created.
At first things seemed fine. However now I have a few problems. The main one is the 15-20 sec pause after hitting a shot and waiting for the screen to go on to the next shot. I have tried just putting graphics on best performance, but dont think that is the problem. When I am looking down the fairway where my shot will land or just any view on the course its smooth, even when I had all the graphics up. For the most part the swing goes fluidly(;though sometimes I have the putter stop and then continue thru the downswing which seems to be a lag issue/graphics hiccup...not sure).
Anyway the main problem is the delay between loading the next shot. Like I said at first this wasnt a problem. I remember from PGA 2000 that you could clear out the swap files to speed things, though I think that was a architecht trick. I have all the lastest drivers too.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and can add more info(;this is offline play).
Thanks |

http://www.coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?post=5444 Ok that link gives the solution it seems so far. Its by gunpower61 at the bottom of the page.
My only question left is what did the confidence folder actually do besided collect the data. I assume that now its read-only it will not keep track of holes or types of shots I perform.
Did these actually affect gameplay? It was a feature that I liked when I picked up the game. Just not sure if it ever worked. |

Hi Guys Thanks for the info this helped with our problem. Its Vista 64 im on and it started doing this after 2 weeks on the newly built system. Deleting the file did it.

deleting the file alone is a temp fix it regenerates itself, so should be made read-only when it's a small size |
