I know you guys primarily deal with the PC version. But I wonder if any of you also played on the XBox1. I'm looking for a version of TW that you think plays best for that system. I think the last one they made was 07.

You of course know the last-gen version of TW is renowned for its craptastic gameplay? And that Links 04 was by far the best last-gen console golf game? However, if you want to go that route, I would recommend you get the final version EA released -- 07 I guess it was. The newer the better, etc.

Thanks, I'm aware of Links, but I hate the constant ball cam on the shots. You can also "arcade" in Links if you want to. And latter version is not always better as some guys have attested to re: certain PC versions. I still think NFL2K5 is better than Madden and MVP2005 w/ the mods beats out MLB2K9.

True with other games for sure. But TW last-gen didn't change much. In fact, the one TW 07 review I found joked about it, saying TW 07 was just like TW 06, which was just like TW 05, which was just like... It did say that 07 was a slight upgrade, and that the putting mechanism that was in older versions (circa 03) was once again available in 07.

Well.... I tried 07 last night and it was awful. There's not much variability on the swing and the camera options plain out suck. The clubs and ball look like the oversized plastic equipment you can buy at Wal-Mart. Links it is. I just wish the camera had some options in it.

TW 10 on the Xbox 360 is a very good game. Replaced Links for me on the console.

I have a modded xbox on my main TV, so I'm looking for something specifically for that setup. It's amazing how many good games MS created/developed.

I completely agree about the Wii version with the Motion Plus device. It is a great way to play TW.

Well, in case anyone was following this and cared. I bought ProStroke 2007 for the XB1. It's really not bad. Very Links like (yes, I realize that's what Links became.....sort of). I don't have any special equipment to play it, just the controller. With having to use both thumbsticks to swing, it's a pretty good challenge. It's too bad that there aren't more options, but there is a course creator which I may play with.
