Finally got a copy of TW06, but being a console playing Tiger fan I could do with some tips on the game, as its damn tough on the PC!

Putting:- I suck at putting at the mo. The thing that confuses me is who are you supposed to judge how far a maximum swing of the putter will hit the ball, so that you can then judge how much of the power bar to use on the putt?? (I dont have a mouse or joypad so Im using the click system)

Swing Slider bar:- Near the bottom left of the game screen. The manual says what it is but doesnt explain what its for??

Zoom to where shot will land:- On the console versions you can zoom forward on the course to see where your shot should land, can you do that on the console versions??

Joypad?:- As Im use to playing with a joypad on the consoles is it worth getting one for the PC version? Are the analogue sticks accurate?

Thanks in advance for the assistance!

Get a mouse :)
using 3clk spacebar is ridiculous
forget a gamepad, you might as well pick up the ball and drop it in the hole each time

putting depends on swing - 3clk approx 5-8 feet per dot on meter, TS - practice
also depends on roll of the green and green speed

slider bar - move left to lower the shot, move right to add loft

Read the manual - every keyboard shortcut is listed there - like E key to zoom etc
(;except Expert level, no zooming)

with a mouse - you could click on the OH - overhead map - on the screen and see other details like distance to pin, move the camera around to check landing area etc

Get a mouse :)

Thanks for the tip. I have a mouse-pad on my laptop but that doesn work at all well! Need to invest in a mouse I feel! :-)

As for the putting, its having a frame of reference. If I knew a maximum swing of the putter would go 10ft for example I could then work out how much of a swing I would need to get to the hole...doesnt seem to be any frame of reference though, just trial and error, which is not what you need when you need to two-putt a green!

When I played on my laptop I bought one of those small Microsoft wireless USB mice... Worked pretty well, not too expensive.

On "normal" speed greens, I treat the first dot on the meter as 10 ft ( meaning.... the ball will die at 10 ft.... you can safely hit it a bit harder ........).On dryer greens , the dot will represent a longer distance...... on wetter greens it will represent less distance.

Borrowing Otto's format,
On "normal" speed greens, I treat the first dot on the meter as 10 ft ( and the directly over dot represents 100feet. You can go over that dot. ). On very dry greens , the dot will represent a double distance, on dry greens, 150% distance. On wetter greens it will represent reverse to dry greens.
