Havent played a PC Tiger Woods game before, so fairly new to all this custom course stuff. Just wondered what game modes you can use the custom courses in, or are they just limited to going round for a 18 holes on your own?

Amazing work by all those who have created the courses and the caddie program; can't wait to see it in action!

Hi...
When you are playing TW08 and TW07:

You can use custom courses offline in:
Practice mode
Custom mode
Or you can play custom courses online on EASO

When you are playing TW06:
Same as above, but for TW06 game EAsports released Career editor 06, so here you can also play custom courses offline in PGA tour mode.

I like the sound of that career editor for TW'06; where does one download that from? Im guessing as my laptop is a little older it might be better for me to get 06 instead of 08 to, if I can still get hold of it (have to have a look on Ebay).

Do you have to install TW Caddie 08 to install 06 courses or can you just download 06 courses straight off?

Thanks for the info Gunpower, much appreciated!

Hi...
When you want to play TW06 custom courses you don t need TWCaddie08 (;TWCaddie08 is only for TW08 game ).
To play Tw06 custom courses you will need automatic installer: CLsetup06
you can download CLsetup06 on link below:

http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/category.asp?id=1&gameid=8

There is also good tutorial on link below:

http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/details.asp?id=488

In Tutorial above you will see it is required to also download and install Course architect06
(;Note: first you will have to install TW06 game, before you can install Coursearchitect06.)
You can download coursearchitect 06 on link below:

http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/category.asp?id=7&gameid=8

You can download Career editor on link below, instructions are included in download i believe:

Gunpowder, my understanding is the 06 career editor can also be adapted and used in TW 07. Is that not correct? If so, that might be an option, DaveT. I have all three games, and while the gameplay in TW 08 is better, 07 is still a decent game. TW 07 user-created courses run much better on my (older as well) laptop than many TW 08 courses do.

Hi Bangus...
yes , but will be a bit more complicated ,and it is required to install both games ( TW07 and TW06 ) i believe ( not sure about that...lol ).

Thanks again for the info Gunpower....TW'06 might have to be the one for me, being that the older game will no doubt run a bit better on my older laptop. And the career editor thing sounds excellent, be nice to utilise the custom courses in an actual season.

Just a quick question....with the 06 custom courses, will I still need NET Framework 2.0 and higher, and Windows Installer 3.1 or higher installed on my laptop as I dont have those programs at the moment??

Hi Dave...

NET Framework 2.0 and Windows Installer 3.1 are only required for TWCaddie08, so no need to install the files.

Note: I hope you are running windows XP on your laptop and not Vista. Windows Vista will give you problems to run the older TW games. When you are running XP you will have no problems.

That's good news!! I wont have to track down a copy of those programs then. And yes, Im running XP thankfully. I've been reading on the forums and it seems Vista has a few issues with the TW Caddie.

Cheers again for the assistance...I'll let ya know how I get on once I track down a copy of the game.

Hi Dave. Installing custom courses into the 2006 version of the game can be done two ways. First is with the Course Utilities progam that comes with the game. The second way and easier of the two, is with the 2006 version of the CLSetup tool. It can be found in the 2006 area on the Utilities section on this site. You just download and save the course and library files, say to your desktop. Open the CLSetup tool and highlight all of the files and click on open and then ok and yes to install them. You don't need to unzip the files and it will let you know if you're missing a library too. It also has a great help section under help and contents. Good luck and have fun with the game.
