At the present time I am thoroughly enjoying playing Dammpa and Dammas 2004 courses and very much appreciate all the effort put into these courses. They are all brilliant designs. However I cannot get three of the courses to run, they drop back to desktop. The three courses are Heritage Mountain, Hurricane Ridge and Mount Sasquatch. I have also noticed that on some of the courses the fairways appear as rough, the commentary suggests that you are in the rough, but it seems to play as fairway. Finally on the Cougar Mountain course both fairway and greens appear as rough, with the game even having you use pitching wedges when you are only a few feet from the hole. This is very puzzling to me and I look forward to viewing any comments. Best regards, Jimbo63.

I have heard you can use 06 courses with TW 08, but can use you these 04 TW courses too with 08 or you using the TW 04 disk to play these?

I've seen in some of my TW readings that some think TW 04 was the best version ever made in the TW series, and wouldn't mind checking it out to see.....

All of the courses since 2002 have the same file extension, thus they have the potential to be playable with 08. Personally, I would not recommend trying this with 02 or 03 courses because they are far inferior to those after.

I would also agree that 2004-2006 was the Golden Age of Tiger Woods course design. From my experiences, most of these courses should be playable for TW08, but sometimes it doesn't translate over for any number of reasons.

I would go as far to say that 99% of 06 and 07 courses play perfectly in TW08 however the 06 courses will loose their their pano's when played in TW08 (They are still their but they are at an entirely different elevation that you never see them)

Anything before 06 is a lottery, and most of the textures and objects will have lighting/rendering oddities.

I am playing these courses in the original TW2004 game. For the three courses that will not load properly could it be possible that the downloads have no initiation file included. I have original disks for TW2004 through to TW2008. Playing in 2004 and 2005 is extremely enjoyable and I would recommend giving them a try. The original games can usually be bought from Ebay or Amazon at very reasonable prices. Best regards, Jimbo63

OK
Thanks for the cool replies, and I think when we get extra cash here & there, we will try to collect all the versions of TW before they are gone one day for good. I like graphics a lot, but I love a great game-play games too.

This is sorta like me getting in late with the HL FPS series since I'm new with PC gaming compared to most, and I picked up HL the original after loving HL2 so much. Even thought the graphics in HL: weren't like HL2, the game-play was unbelievable in that game, and I enjoyed it very much. Kinda thaught me to look past graphics with a PC game, and give them a chance instead of deciding things by looks only. Plus, I come from the era when Pong was the greatness thing since sliced beard, so I know games can be great even without today awesome graphic power. If I could have a penny for every time I played Pitt Fall & Asteroids on Atari I'd be a rich man, that's for sure.... :P

Oh yeah
That reminds me about this mod(user made game) Black mesa suppose to come one day, it's where some PC programmers are updating the graphics form the original HL game. I need to check on that to see if it's came out yet. Been awhile since I been around HL game news.

Thanks again
