| Forget about it, you may be able to get to a JUST OK point on novice. But, I play adv. and tried a power shot 1 time and gave up trying, forever!!! It's impossible as far as I'm concerned. Who needs it anyway? |

I feel the same way about PS Power shots just aren't realistic, and now that I'm trying to play expert, I have now found out you can't even us PS under expert. So if you plan on moving up don't let this act as a crutch later on with your game, If you don't plan on moving up no big deal. Me getting used to not having E & G keys as been like a crutch for me in the beginning of expert play, but I'm finally not even thinking about them anymore unless I play a course where navigating is kinda tough.
One thing I'm trying not let happen in this game for me is I kinda don't want to get use to stuff like PS to score better, and play leaderboard chasing all the time or even worry about what handicap I have. Don't get me wrong I like competition, but I enjoyed the realism much more with what this game as to offer, than how well I do on some leaderboard. With handicaps the best players don't win anyways so it's just not that important to me. I won't lie, it feels good do well, and be reward for improving on a leaderboard, but that's how I look at doing well in the rankings. It's a reward for my improvement from all the hard work while working on my game. I'm finding out the Handicaps are a great gage to following your improvement in TW.......
That how a take things in this game, but like I said, I'm a noob so every time I think I got a grip with things in this game, something else comes around the corner & surprising me. This is just my preference, and everyone will want different things from this game. That's cool with other liking different things, and I want all to enjoy what they love about this game to the fullest, it's a great game indeed..... Just find what makes ya happy & do it..... :)
Good luck, and have fun Squirrely |

Oh yeah, I tried PS under novice when I 1st tried this game around 6th months or so ago, but quit using it on my own when ball starting flying 400 yds or so, and was left with chips on par 4's.....LOL Now the upper levels it a bear to hit that PS on the money. Very tough to do, but I couldn't even handle how fast the 3-click swing meter went under intermediate cause it was so fast like. So I migrated to TS when I had too so I could play on the Clam tour because they have no novice level there. Kinda all worked out because I love True-swing now because I feel like I'm playing real golf even more this way, very cool TS is.
Best to practice PS if it's for you because it's tough has nails on anything above novice to hit. Guess the advice I'll give if ya want to really use PS, is to just go into practice mode where you can hit the same shot over & over off the tee. Hit a bunch of shots over, over, and over until you get the feel right, this is the only way I know of how to hit that tough stinker on the money most likely.

I have found one good use for the power shot. If you find yourself in tall rough, so tall that the stuff stops ball flight, pick a wedge or short iron, a high arc, and aim for the nearest playable area, and hit a power shot. I have discovered that this can save your butt from maxing out strokes and getting kncked out of the running. We have all ended up in spots like this. If you have never tried the power shot escape, you may be surprised If you get a feel for how and when and where to do this, it can be a game saver.
One thing though - if you somehow adjust your shot to be a clear shot, you may end up in just as bad a spot. Best to use this if you are fairly sure there is no other way out. |
