Here is the link that I posted earlier for a procedure to use the TW06 Career Editor to develop a Tour File using customer courses in TW07

http://coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?post=7082&forum=11

If you have any questions on the procedure just respond and I will try to help out.

This procedure works great if followed in detail...

I have downloaded Coustom courses for TW 08 and I would like to make custom career to play in TW 07. I have read this tutorial and I understand what I should do, but I have one question:

How to instal courses in TW07? I have downloaded them but the most of them are .myZip type and Caddie06 doesn't recognize them :(

Download them individually and they will be regular .zip.

Oh :( so let's download again ...
and when I install them witch file should I choose in Caddie to unzip? Is there any "main" file, or should I choose all the files?

no need to download again and use more bandwidth - thats the major cost for sites

myzip is same as zip file
just change extension .myzip to .zip
they work fine
change number name to course or library name if you need to

there is absolutely no reason not to save the download files in a folder or on cd/dvd so theyre available in future

caddie only works in 08
other years use CLSetup (;above link)
or use CU (;course utilities) that comes with the game each year up to tw08

I have aother problem :( I renamed the .myZip extensions to .zip and it works. But, when i start to install custom courses with Caddie for TW 06 it says that I am missing libraries for courses that are include in TW08 but not in TW07, and that the course will be unplayable until I instal those libraries. Where can i find libraries for TW08? I tried here in libraries section, but there are just for 07 or older versions.

TW08 courses all require at least 1 stock library that comes with TW08. You will have to own a copy of TW08 and get the stock libraries from there. The 08 stock libraries are not available for download.

The stock libraries are installed where your TW game is installed. There will be a subfolder called Courses and then individual folders for each stock course. Inside each of those stock course folders you will find the stock library for that course.

My recommendation would be to find each of those stock TCL files, copy them to an easy to find folder on your computer, like a new folder on your desktop. Once you gather all of the TCL files to one location, zip each one up separately. Then use the CLSetup program for 07 to install them wherever you want for your 07 game. I would also recommend burning a backup CD of these zipped library files so they are easy to find in case you ever need to reinstall them.

Just to clarify what you need where...

You only need the course files you are planning to set up in the career file on TW06. The career editor only needs to find the course and not the associated libraries. I know when you install the courses it will tell you you are missing libraries and that is just fine...keep going.

Now for TW07... when you install courses into TW07, you will need all of the library files associated with the course. That means all...every one of them. TW07 is where you will play your career and all the course files with libraries need to be installed to start the career. You may use most of the TW08 custom courses in TW07 with minimal problems but I have found that very few of the EA Sports stock courses work correctly without problems in TW07. You will find some that will just kick you to desktop causing major problems with the career mode.

Please...Please play a practice round on any non-TW07 course you plan to use in career mode to make sure your computer and graphics card has no hiccups. If you don't you may get a nasty surprise just when you get to the major you wanted to play most. I also found that most of the TW06 courses don't look that well in TW07... So I would only use them as a last resort.

Thanks :) I done it, and during instalation CLSetup didn't ask for libraries, so that part is ok. I installed all the libraries, and I installed a few courses. The installation went ok, but now I have one more problem:

When I start game, in menu where I should choose course where I want to play there is no custom courses that I installed earlier, just the courses that come with the game. Those courses are all in installation folder of TW07, their libraries, too. But I can't play them because they are not in list to choose from :(

The career editor in TW06 should see every course you installed in TW06. If it doesn't you need to check that the course folders are installed in the right folder and the course files are also located in the course folders. The career editor has to be installed in the TW06 bin folder to work. You will not be able to play any of the courses in TW06 but you should be able to play any installed course in TW07.

Oh, by the way, the course icon files for TW08 courses are not the same ones or type used in TW06 or TW07. I had to make course icon files/course picture files that would identify the non-TW07 courses in the TW07 course list. There are some references to building these files in the Forum but it is time consuming. What I did most of the time was to take a picture (high quality jpeg) from the course itself on typing in yahoo pictures of the course and then using the TW07 course icon template to fit the picture and edit course name. Then just put the icon file in the course folder and TW07 will recognize it.

Oh... Use the paint.net graphics program editor to adjust the jpeg sizes to fit the TW07 icon template and install Course Name Text on the jpeg.
