| I have noticed that the TW2008 Player of the Month, hornsby07, earns around 150,000 tokens per week. Would anyone know how this is possible since you would have to win 750 games per week at 200 tokens per win. Just curious !! |

| Bird, I won't explain it......... no need to add to the database of folks who understand how to cheat. Suffice it to say that if you , or your club, appears on the front page at EASO, you've announced to the community that you're a better cheater than most folks....... |

| the more advanced ranked games you win in a row the more tokens you win , i think for 9 in a row you get something like 10,000 tokens a win after that not sure how high this goes or the exact number but it is in the game , win 20 in a row and you are earning a huge number of tokens |

I just dont get the cheating concept at all, people cheat to do better, but how can anyone really enjoy this?
The little time Ive been here I have read stories here & there of bad things in TW, and then there is stuff said where players use stuff to do better in TW or just plain out cheat by using codes or programs available. Why would anyone want to higher their handicap anyways like this by cheating or using stuff to shot higher scores? I always try to keep in mind that everyone will want something different from something than what I might want from it, and Im really trying to understand this approach in TW, but cant find happy ground with this thinking. I try to shot true-swing with just my plain old Dell mouse that came with out PC, and do freehand TS. Im starting to understand that there are things one can do to make you shot better, but the more I think about things while playing tournaments that have handicap relief. Getting your handicap higher by doing some of these things would make things harder for yourself it seems, but I also understand that some players are just plain good with their god given talent & years experience playing TW. So they will be fighting a high handicap because they have no choice in the matter because they just rock at this game. Oh yeah, Im pretty darn impressed with this after trying expert for the 1st time now, and I may never reach this level in the game, but if I can get to a scratch golfer while playing with freehand TS expert, I will be very happy with this reaching this goal....:)
Example of this to help explain what Im trying to say with what Im seeing with TW now:
Ive read somewhere that someone can actually do something(;wont mention it because I dont want to do what Otto Kriete mentioned in above post) with mouse setting or something like this so it hits a straight ball everytime. What makes golf so good to me is knowing I can hit a bad shot if I do wrong or have lack of focus. Then I have to use what golf knowledge I have to minimize the damage done with playing smart golf. Sometimes for me a bogey or par feels like a great birdie with how it was achieved, and not all scores are the same because they are the same number on the scorecard. Thats good real life golf for me, and I love this game because it brings this to the table, and when playing a course. I love the challenge of trying to beat what it was designed to do to me, smack me silly for bad shots...... :P
Doing this stuff Ive read here & there seems it would make things harder to overcome the ranking by making your handicap higher, and courses are usually design to give only so many real good birdie chances. So making them birdies show on the scorecard more by using stuff to shot better is kinda hurting someone chances to do better than their handicap, I would think. Im no expert with handicap ways, but It seems its you against your handicap each week & not other players, but I still have much to learn with this handicap cap stuff so I might be way wrong with this thinking. When I played real life golf we never used Handicaps before, and this is why Im trying understand them somewhat better now, but we did use to give a bubby some strokes on the hardest holes to even things out when we played skins or even stroke play too.
Cheating straight up with software is something I dont like at all. One prgogram I read about is just bad, bad, bad, and anyone using those are the ones losing out big time because they are really missing out with what the games offers golf fans in my eyes.
I just woke up & havent even finished my 1st cup of coffee yet, so I might not have made any sense writing this post..... :P

| Nice comments squirrely, and no, you don't need more coffee. I have never understood the fascination with cheating to win a video game. Why by the darn thing if all you want to do is see how low you can score with artificial help. How boring can you make a game and still enjoy it. If every shot is right on, then what is the end game? I am still playing on novice and score somewhere between -6 and -10 depending on the course. Yes, the game makes concessions by using the novice setting, but I still make single, double, and tripl bogeys depending on how well I play. The game remains interesting to me by doing it that way. If I artificially "fixed" my shots, it would become very boring very fast. |
