| I guess this is the place to ask this. I am new to TW2k8. I've been playing Links 2003 for a couple of years and gotten used to their 3-click swing and resulting shot arcs which are high with significant hang times on drives and iron shots. Early on in TW, as a novice to start, I've noticed that the shot arcs are quite low with little hang time. Almost as if I am topping the ball, but my drives are still traveling about 240 yards. Is this because I am playing as a novice, or is this normal for TW? And yes I am hitting it solid, not topping it. Makes me nervous on long shots over water. |

| you can adjust the shot arc by moving the ball forward or backward in your stance ( there's a slider at the bottom of the screen that allows you to do this... unless you're playing as an amateur and haven't accumulated enough skill to see the slider, yet ). |

Also make sure attributies are built up in the game offline. By playing the Tiger Challenges...Besides they are great fun and will help you to play the game better...some folks desigree...but hey give it a try. The experences point's you get from the challenges build up the attributies...it sure worked for me.

Yes. Your shots have more loft once you build up your power skill points. Me, I ended up using a fix to give my amateur 75% Power before starting my career (while using a 4 wood as my driver). That way my shots had a realistic amount of loft, and career mode was much more enjoyable. |

I enjoy playing as a novice and doing the skill events. I just find the low arc of the shots completely unrealistic. Heck, anybody who's just starting out in real life can easily sky their shots if they wish. That's the one area of the novice gameplay that doesn't work for me, and IMO wasn't programmed properly. |
