Ever since I installed I.E. 8 I have not been able to use the course add-on's installer. When I try to install a new course I get this message: "Unhandled exception has occured in your application. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." The when I scroll down to the message box that gives me the "detailed" reason, this is what it says: "When JIT (just-in-time) debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer rather than be handled by this dialog box." Can anyone tell me what I need to do, so I can get the course installer to work with the IE 8? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the CDT course add-on's tool, that does not help. Thanks!

Here's the message I keep getting when I try to download an add on course:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

This line from the error output is the clue to finding the problem "System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process"

It basically means just like it says. The process causing the error message(I will assume it to be the caddy) cannot access the file for whatever reason. This is what needs to be resolved. This can be caused by something else having a lock on it(being used by another program, etc) or a few other reasons. How are you downloading, when do you get this error, etc.

If you could outline the basic steps, and when the error occurs it would add alot of insight. IE

1. I click the link and chose save file as...
2. I save it to a folder on my desktop
3. I launch caddy and select install and choose the file.
4. The error appears when the caddy starts installing the file.

something along those lines would be very helpful

You nailed it Jimbo! Except I DL from a slave drive, instead of my desktop, which makes no difference. I get 3-4 green bars in the upload...and it pops up the error message above. I have lost so much time trying to figure this out, I am totally out of the loop on new downloaded courses. I have done nothing different, I haven't downloaded or uninstalled anything that would make this happen, it's really frustrating to figure this one out.

So this error message occurs during the file save process(while it is downloading)? If you first try saving to your system drive(desktop or my documents as a test). And you indicated this happened after upgrading to IE8?

Yes, it happened after I DL IE 8. Since then...thinking that was my problem, I have uninstalled IE 8, but samething continues to happen. While it is in the upload stage, after 2 seconds or so I get the "application error" on the TW Caddie. I haven't tried saving the course to my desktop yet, that will be the next step. Thanks Jimbo!
