Some advise please...
Seems it's taking longer and longer for holes to load. I'm looking at the scorecard for more than a minute every time. Once the hole loads, it plays at normal speed. I've removed the tcn many times, I uninstalled a bunch of courses I don't play much, I've defragged.
Other programs run just fine...just TW08 has slowed to a snails pace.
Anyone have an ideas how to speed things up? Thanks in advance

if the Confidence folder file is the culprit: removing the tcn file does nothing it comes back every time you start the game
right click on the file select properties change Attribute properties to: read only
then it will not increase in size and eventually slow your game down
if you use multiple players, do it for each one |

OK, can i safely delete the hole.tcn file? I deleted the shot tcn and set the hole file to read only...but it's a big file. Is it still going to suck up time/space? |

yes it will, changing it to read only when it is a large file only stops it from adding data/growing in size - any game slowness from the large file size remains
standard method is delete HoleType.tcn file found in C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\My Documents\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Career\Players\PLAYERNAME\Confidence
start game with that player, 1 hole is fine - hole type.tcn file is created again exit game return to above folder THEN right click, select Properties, change Attributes to Read Only in General tab
Hole Type.tcn file is now fixed at that size (;usually under 50 kb)
Shot Type.tcn does nothing and can be ignored |

I've been deleting the wrong file all along...needed to fix the hole not the shot.
I did as suggested and it works fine now. Thanks.
