My partner and I play alot of alternate shot games on TW2008. Lately, if we win or lose, we are receiving no tokens and no change in rating points---it usually shows on the log that the game was forfeited---we make sure nobody concedes anything because we know that messes up the game.....Anyone having this problem or know how to end and alt.shot game without a forfeit ??

My experience is that if one of the guys you are playing against leaves before the last putt is sank, that this will happen. Also, if you play with "gimmees" and the last player on the last hole ends up with a gimmee putt, that this will also happen. Seems like anytime you put the game in charge and allow it make a decission, (concedes, gimmees, etc.) that funky things happen. The first scenario I mentioned tho is probably the most irritating, rather than sit and watch the last putt drop, someone leaves and you've just played 9 or 18 holes for nothing.

Sorry to disagree Otto, but this is NOT golf. It is a computer game, and if you don't know the difference, maybe you're the one playing the wrong game. All I am saying is that you sit down at your puter, expecting to play a fun game with someone you don't even know on the other end. Most times, everything turns out fine, you play your game, everyones happy and you move on. Maybe made a new friend along the way. But on occassion, the guy on the other end gets a little over zealous, or might just be someone yanking your chain, either way, it is irritating. Now, if it were REAL golf and someone quits, who cares, you keep playing and have a good time. I know that if I am playing someone online and for whatever reason I get disconnected, I feel bad for the guy I was playing against. I will try to find the guy online and offer up an apology. That won't make up for the tokens or rating or ranking that have become so important to cyber golfers, but at least the guy knows that I wasn't yanking his chain. Its too bad that the rules and etiquatte(sp?) of REAL golf can't be brought forward into a computer game.

I have to agree with Otto. The game is fun for the aspect in which it was intended. Personally, I could care less about ratings, rankings or tokens. There are only two things I am in competition with when I play online. That is myself to improve, and the course that I am playing on to try and score well. If I feel I have played well, and I am playing in a match with someone else, I am not concerned with the outcome of our scores. Disconnects do happen for many reasons and I know there are players out there that do it on purpose. If iot happens to me, oh well, move on to the next one.
