I've pretty much given up on the course file I implemented into the architect from the other game I designed in. So I started fresh and have been careful about not using any 06 stock libraries. I laid out one hole, installed water features and walls, compiled the course, installed it into TW08 and it still wont load up. Do I need to initialize the architect or something? Just wondering if there is something I need to do with these courses before I try to install them. Doesnt seem right that TW wont even load a course with just one hole on it none the less the entire course. Dont understand what needs to happen. This is my first attempt with the TW architect. And it does work just like the other one I used. Thanks for any input.

Whiffle56, are you using 2006 course TW architect. 2004 and early CAs will compile a large TW course file and they will not look right in 2008 game. Try to compile your old file in 2006 CA, it should work in game. Don't give up on your designing, we will help you find a solution to your problems.

what exactly is happening? error messages etc
you need to have all the libraries used in creating it in CA06 installed in TW08
a course not loading is often a missing library (;could not initialize etc type message)
if you did not change the default pano (;pebble 2006) in the CA it may be looking for that in 08 also
if you didnt use a default/test logo, splash, or text file with it youll see blank spots - but it should still load |

| Hi, did you use the hole definition tool to add the shot paths on each hole and the pin locations on the greens? I believe that the course won't load in the game if they haven't been added to each hole on the course. |

hi all.. I am using CA06 to make the course. I did only lay out one hole cause i wanted to see if it would load up. I have the shot paths laid down, the pin placements are also there. I picked the Fjord Mid panorama to be installed in the architect. I am using none of the 06 libraries so far at this point. Just frustrated I guess. Not sure why they wont load into TW08. Thanks all..

Whittle56, did you zip your course up and load it into TW 08. the CA will not load it into the game like it did in 2006. You have to load it in game.

well.. dunno what to tell ya.. the course exists in TW08 caddie. All libraries are good. I get Tiger Woods 08 has encountered a problem and needs to shut down when i try to load it up. Is there a tweak to make the caddie accept the courses or am I just grabbin at straws? This just doesnt seem right. I can load everyone elses courses except the ones I create in the 06 architect. I'm sorry but compressing it in a zip file didnt do anything for me. I just compile the course and install by opening the green icon that it creates and it installs in the 08 caddie. The course is listed in the caddie. So theres gotta be something I need to do to get it to load into the game instead of causing an error when I do. Would appreciate any suggestions.

does it load and play in 06? (;when you compile, it should automatically install it in 06) (;you wont see the pano but ...)
for 06 if using clsetup - try the File, Analyze routine - all ok? if using Course Utilities - click on course, check those libs are also installed in 08
for 08 click on Files, Analyze installed files all ok? |

Vista aint so bad after you get to know it a little better. You have to take it out to dinner and a movie a few times and learn it's faults and strong points. ;) :D
Seriously I would never go back to anything else. |

I've had this occur before, The course would crash the game before it even loaded.
Do you have any plants and trees on the course yet?
if not, 2 solutions that worked for me.
1. Compile the course with the option for tree lighting deselected.
or
2. Add some trees and plants around the course even if they are just temporay, it is almost as if the CA needs a minimum number of plants to compile properly. |

Dont think you answered part of JBs question, Do you have the libs that you used, installed into the 08 game?
This all can get pretty confusing, so since you only did 1 hole, why not start from scratch again.
This time just put a green with pins, and a tee box with shot points. Just make sure that the library you use is also installed into the 08 game, should be easy enough.
Hope it helps. |

If your using caddie to install, it should be stating any missing libs.
Have you checked to see for any invalid points? Even if it's one hole, try that.
Open up your course, under tools, click repair course and see if that helps.
Of course, you'll need to save and compile again after. |

in the caddie, when i check properties of the course, all libraries are good. Does that mean they are installed in the game? To me it should work if all libraries are good. And to the other question, yes there are trees on the course. I have all the real and fantasy courses downloaded and can play all of them, so the libraries must be installed in TW08 cause those are the libraries I'm using. Thanks.

there's been lots of questions, please answer a few hard to know exactly what might be wrong with questions hanging out there still
does your course play in 06?
do you have tree lighting checked? or unchecked? usually will not compile with it checked |
