I used to have TW2008 installed on my old PC and it ran well on lower seting, but I had to unistall it from that PC due to lack of HD space.
Now since then I have got a new PC and decided to re-install TW08 on this new machine. It installs and says that everything has installed correctly.
The thing is I have several display problems namely :-
1) The opening EASport logo movie does not display, screen is just black.
2) All cut scene`s sound plays but screen black again.
3) At the end of a round when it comes to returning to the main menu, game returns to main menu but screen remains black.
4) If I select main menu from the menu selections during a round game returns to main menu but once again screen is just black.
My specs are:-
CPU = Core 2 Duo E8400 3 GHz
Graphics card = GeForce 8500 GT 512 meg PCIe
Memory = 2 Gigs of DDR2 5300
OS = Windows Vista Home Basic 32bit
I have tryed the following things without success.
Upgraded graphics card drivers.
Check DirectX for updates.
Tryed running in Windows XP SP2 mode.
Also UAC is turned off.
This problemis really bugging me as at the end of each round or when ever I exit a game to main menu I have to Alt+Ctrl+Delete and end the game with the task manager and then restart the the game to proceed to the next round. Like I said the game ran OK on my old PC which was a windows XP based machine which I no longer have.

Try running in one cpu
start tw08
press cntrl-alt-del
select task manager
right clik tw2008.exe
select affinity
un-check cpu1 |

TW08 uses old video formats that Vista might not play,the program in the link installs the missing video codec`s in to Vista letting the video`s play,there are other programs that do the same thing,you dont have to use this one.

Thanks guys, I did get it sorted out in the end. I checked several other TW forums and found one where someone else had the same problem, what cured it was setting the AA and AS setting in the nVidia graphic control panel to aplication controlled. As simple as that but thanks for the link to the codecs download I will download it keep for future use if needed.

Can anyone help with a resolution problem I am having? Game resolution is set to 1024 x 768 and looked fine until yesterday. Now the screen appears slightly squashed and the 3 click meter is an oval shape and very blurred. When i change the graphic options in the game it only gives me 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768. Whichever one I choose doesnt alter anything.
I have tried altering resolution in Nvidia control panel but nothing has helped. Its a new computer with very good spec (; Nvidia Geforce 9500 gt,Intel dual core 3.16 Ghz and 4 gig ram)
I have also tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling to no avail
Please ignore this post it is a fault with the monitor and has been resolved |
