Sometimes you run into a player who uses Tiger Woods or John Daly as their player when playing online. I know that I have wondered if they are enjoying any advantage over using their own profile.

According to EA, all profiles are the same, so it makes no difference whether they use their own or that of Tiger Woods'. See EA's response below.

Thank you for contacting EASPORTS Technical Support regarding your question
about online profiles. To answer your question, no, there is no difference
whether you use your own profile, a created profile, or Tiger Woods' profile
when playing online. All of the profiles are exactly the same minus small
adjustments based on club use in-game.
