hey gp,
i tried it four times get no logo screen on courses when i try to play it says "couldn't open course text file. please make sure the course disk inserted." don't have course disk just game disk. it's not a major deal Gunpower i do have over 300 courses d/led, but there's a tournament on that course wanted to play in it if i don't i'll live lol.
p.s. by the way how do i get the annimated avatars under my name like u guys? i'm sure it's disscussed some where but i can't find it. i did find where i can d/l picture, if it's the same place where to gat annimation? sry so long

the lack of a logo or course.txt file (or splash screen) just means those files aren't being seen (no registry entry was made during the install)
if you're using TWCaddie, open the course properties and make the connection yourself
those files should be in the course folder:
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses
look for the blank logo in the G section of your course list (the courses are listed alphabetically), then go ahead and set conditions and start game
or go online to the tournament - you should be able to join it no problem |

When you open TW Caddie....On left side dubble click course name (; Gardenia ) in courses list.
Popup box will appear...and you will see:
Course logo....with path box to logo: at right side you will see square with 2 little dots
Click square and you will be able to find the logo pic: file is called: logo
(; you can find logo in installed coursename folder: Gardenia )
When you dubble click the logo pic it should be added....at last click: Apply
You can do the same actions to add the text file, but now you will have to go to box: Course text. |

ok GP did tyhat got logo also did text file come up with something differant. could not find c:\PROGRAMS~1\Gardinia.tcr.? don't mean to be a pain in the a-s, maybe i might learn something. also need help with the annimated avatar.

repeat the same process to correctly identify where the course.tcr file is - as you did with the text and logo files
they should all be in the same course folder location, just have to correctly point the TWCaddie to that folder as he described earlier
the error message: "Couldn't open the course text file. Please make sure the courses disk is inserted" is the same error message
- it means it cannot find the text file
(there is no courses disk in the dvd version, not since 06 has there been a 'courses disk')
have you tried clicking on the empty (now filled) logo spot, then starting the course up?
it should play even without the text file being recognized

Thanks JB and GP for all the help finally got it to open course by going in said twcaddie box and opening all. thanks again very much.
p.s.
if you could help me with that avatar thing in your spare time i would appreaciate it.

Hi Rick...
Otto is correct:
On top of homepage of Coursedownloads site go to: My Account.....and choose: Upload user pic.
You will have to resize your pic first....resize the pic to 100x100 and save it as a jpg.
When you resized and saved as JPG, the pic is ready for upload.

In that folder will be an image called photo, use that. |

Hiya Rick...
You want to upload your your player pic you are using in TW08 game ?
this is where you can find it:
On your desktop go to folder: My documents......inside look for folder: Tiger Woods 08....go to folder: Career......Players.....yourplayername.....and you will find file: Photo
There is one problem....photo is targa file, so you will have to convert it to: JPG
when you dont know how to convert to JPG, i can do it for you.
Send Photo file to: gunsmoke2k4@hotmail.com
and i will convert to JPG....and sent you the file back.
Note: sorry Rob....didn t see your post above, we probably posted at same time :) |
