| i know i must sound stupid...but i don't understand what the following adjustments do to setting up a game ...please help me...the following:..shader level...course life system...depth of field...bloom....thanx for any help...you guys run a great site...and the designers r awesome..love all the courses... |

You will find some answers below:
1.When you start playing TW08 game, it is important to know there is a bug in the game:
When you played some courses you will see the loading times between holes are increasing, the game will become slower and slower.
Do next steps to solve the problem:
On desktop you will see folder: My documents........
inside look for: Tiger woods PGA tour 2008....and inside go to folder: Career.
Inside Career go to folder: Players.......and inside look for your playersname folder.
Now you will see folder: Confidence.....and inside you will find files:
Hole Type.tcn......and.....Shot type.tcn
Now right click both files ( hole.tcn +Shot type.tcn) and delete both files.
When you did this: restart TW08 game and play 1 hole on any course and close TW08 game.
Go back to same confidence folder and you will see both files are regenerated: but now they are very small size ( 85kb or something like that) Now right click both files ( Type.tcn......and.....Shot type.tcn) and choose : Properties....and check box: READ ONLY. Do this for both files.
2.....Another problem is the big sized shot distance display in game.
There is a very good download on site to make the shot distance display smaller:
Above shoutbox look for: Utilities....inside look in section: Game display.
And inside Game display you will find download file: Shot distance display-small text.
3....Also very important is to add TW07 stock libraries in TW08 game.
The reason is: Some TW08 custom courses are using TW07 stock libraries.
Not available for download yet ( they will be released later this year)
You can t download The TW07 stock libraries ( we are waiting for permission of EAsports).
And EAsports will not give permission before Newyear i believe.
But when you still have TW07 installed ....it is easy to put TW07 stock libraries in TW08 game.
Go to TW07 course folder.
Default path is: . C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 07\Courses
Inside course folder you will find 12 stock folders:
PBL ....SAW....STA....AVI....CPK....FAL....JPN....KHC....KOC....NTL....PRG....RIV.
Inside each stock folder you will find : EAsports Library
For example: inside PBL folder you will find library PBL
Now right click on library file and choose copy.......go to desktop and choose: Paste
And now you will see library file on desktop.
Do the same for other 11 libraries.....and when finished you will have 12 libraries on your desktop.
Now open CLsetup08....and browse to libraries on desktop.....dubble click on each...and all stock TW07 libraries will be installed in TW08 game.
4....When you want very nice water with TW08 custom courses:
Start TW08 game......go to: Options.......Graphics:.....and set: Shader level: MEDIUM
5....When you want very nice buildings with TW08 custom courses:
Start TW08 game......go to: Options.......Graphics:.....and set: Shader level: LOW

All TW08 stock courses are using CLS files (; course life system ), with CLS settings: Auto or high, you will see eye candy in the game: Animals.....blimp.....etc....
Also a lot of custom courses are using CLS files.
Found this on site,... posted by eagls628:
Depth of field and or Bloom are effects that you would see if you were looking through a tv camera. If you were focused on a near object, objects in the background would be blurred and just the opposite if you were focused on a far object. Lens flare is suppose to represent what you would see if the camera was pointed towards the sun. |
