Would these specs work with TW08? I am not looking for a top of the line experience, but would like a solid performance.

I believe that it would work for playing TW08, although you may run into some headaches with it running Vista. The memory, video card and hard drive specs look like it should more than handle TW08. You may want to take a look around at some of the posts here, at TWC and at the EA boards about getting 08 to run most efficiently using Vista.
The one real issue you are going to see is when it comes to designing. I know you are a designer and if you go with this rig you are not going to be able to design. The CA program will not compile a course correctly. It will either crash or will compile without a pano showing. So if you want to continue designing you will need to have XP on it.
One option you would have if you went with that system would be to take an old copy of XP if you have one and do a dual boot setup on your system. This would enable you to use Vista if you wanted to while at the same time giving you access to XP for designing. There are several tutorials on the net for doing a dual boot if you go that route. |

| Most of the major PC makers still offer XP Pro as a downgrade from Vista (; I believe they charge a little extra for this option). In other words, you buy the rig with Vista, but it also comes with XP Pro as the primary OS. Microsoft puts up with this because, even though XP is not officially for sale, they get to count it as a Vista sale, thus inflating the numbers for Vista sales..........http://www.dell.com/content/topics/global.aspx/sitelets/solutions/software/business/xp_smb?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&~tab=2 |

I guess I could still design on my laptop... although that would get aggravating after a while... Maybe I can find a used computer w/ XP.
I don't particularly care for Vista anyway. |
