I think I got a virus from one of the threads here about a half hour ago. My CPU is screwed now. I clicked on the "donating" thread and then everything went haywire. |

| What's going on with this site? My McAfee said it quarantined TWO Trojans from this site. All I did was come to the site without downloading or opening up any file from here. Is this site safe? I would hate to have my PC ruined. |

Ive not received a single infection from coming to this site for 4 years........ Im currently using both avg , ver8 in conjunction with Avast (; both are free versions ). If your av programs arent providing you with adequate protection, I would recommend those two...... or ESETS NOD32 (; nominal cost ).
Just a little addy..Symantecs Norton AV has been a notoriously lousy AV program (; although its gotten a lot better lately ). If you have a retail computer (; ie... Dell, Hp , etc) that included Norton as its primary AV program, and youd like to replace it with a better program......... download the other AV program first, then run this program....http://majorgeeks.com/Norton_Removal_Tool_SymNRT_d4749.html Norton is known for leaving lots of remnants behind..... this program removes all those remnants so you arent left with problems from Symantec. Then, immediately install your new AV before going back online (; dont forget to restart after installing your new AV program). |

Agreeing with Otto here. Despite warnings on other sites to stay away whilst there was an issue, I have not come across same probs now or before.
I use Webroot's full suite and use Comodo Firewall.

If you have a good anti virus program, it should be taking care of any potential viruses.I have been using the free AVG program for 10 yars now and it has always worked flawlessly.
The point here is that I and it seems many others have had our anti virus program pop up with a virus warning from this site. The one I get is called HTML/Framer. Yesterday every single time I tried to visit I would get the virus warning. TruBluMich has told us that these are harmless, but how do we know that is always true? |

| I just do not understand why it is getting to be a regular occurance, and there is not such a thing as harmful virus/tojan. They may not all work or be effective. I for one have lost the trust in the site and will probably chose to stay away and look elsewhere. We don't even get any announcements to the fact that something is wrong and what steps are being taken to prevent future attacks or anything. Just an occasional 'it has been cleaned up' |

Attacks like this on websites ( in general) are waaaaaay up this year. Things have changed on the interweb........ we need to all take responsibility for our own security these days....... http://www.itpro.co.uk/605037/us-continues-to-top-malware-league-table

| My question is...WHY THIS SITE?? What's up with the constant attacks?? There has to be a reason. If there is an "everyday" threat...I think we should be made more aware of this. It's obvious that these attacks aren't isolated occurances. |

| It is up to us to make sure we are protected, but there needs to bee certain security measures on the public sites that we are supposed to trust. I have excellent AV but I also do not ever visit any place on the web that I cannot trust. I run approx 20 web sites including PGAX and they always have and always will remain attack and virus free. |

| By that I meant that with the persistence of certain people to create havoc over the internet in general we all have to be extra vigilant and all web sites and databases that are open to the general public are at risk of some form of attack, thats all nothing anymore sinister than that. |

This is proof that some of you are getting AV pop-up blocks, it's a Downloader thats about 7 years old and yes it's in the internet, and will come up as different names. As you can see it's pretty useless, and no need for a panic attack lol. |
