Is it possible to change the name of of a custom golfer, either a stock or down loaded one?

If yall dont mind too much my youngest wanted to know the same thing. A while ago he wanted to play as Ernie Els and has done so (using R0Bkhs custom golfer).
NOW, since hes won a family tourney (or two haha) he wants to change the name to his own.
My first thought was to just go into all the Ernie Els files and change them to his name, but thought the better of it for now.
So ... I too, am curious. Is there a way to do it???

That won't work. That changes the name of the file, doesn't change the code imbedded in the file. The name that appears in-game and on-screen will still be Els'. |

It would seem unless one is proficient with a hex editor or some such techie stuff I guess it best to pick a name one wants to be happy with.
However that brings up another related question, but probably code-related also.
Could anyone hazard a guess as to how difficult it would be to create a TW08 pro ala the Hynos created TW08 pro players (Ernie Els, Walter Hagen, etc.). I see there is no "Pro-Creator" (pun intended) utility.
I've always wanted to play as/or against Lee Trevino or Chi Chi or even Julie Inkster (ok..maybe I wouldn't play AS Julie haha).

Hi bangus,
Actually, the question relating to the names, etc., has to do with the Hynos created pro golfers.
My created avatar is a pro, but starts with 100k and I work my way through the various levels to gain experience points and thus increase my power percentage, etc. No problem with that, as that is part of the fun of the game.
But there is another part of the game that is also fun, with regards to PGA tour pros -- the one's who came with the game (with $1 mil) and the ones Hynos developed (with experience points to the max plus 3 million in cash).
I was hoping for a way to say, take Adam Scott (who came with the game) -or- Tom Watson (Hynos created), rename one of them to say, Lee Trevino, then gameface him to Lee-Lookalike and so on ... without cracking files.

if you do some creative googling, you can find the trainer type
note:
hyno can speak for himself, but not sure anyone since nike actually developed players to full attributes (ie created them and played them through all the levels to gain the $ and attributes), and he used generic names like unlocked100 and unlocked 75 etc, |
