Im trying to figure out how, while just starting out on the tour and with this game, had a perfectly horrible weekend 2 weeks ago and was only a -5 handicap. I have been practicing my butt off and had a better week this week, but I dont understand how some have a -10 and my round last week was worse than theirs...

Unfortunately as you are new to the game as well as the tour we have no data with regards to your abilities in tour play,so -5 is allocated as a standard in these circumstances, as soon as enough data is available either from easo or the tour then you will be allocated a more realistic handicap, I would advise you play some other tournament rounds, use them as practice if you like, the more you play the quicker we will get the required data.

Incidentally if someone has -10 and you have -5 that would mean you do play worse than them, a minus handicap means you have strokes deducted from your rounds.
