How do you add custom golfers to the program. What do you use to accomplidh this?

Hi ......
You can download custom players in section:
Utilities....Utilities and files for TW08....Custom golfers.
There is read me file included in the downloads.
Some help below:
To install custom golfers in TW game: ( for example: davidhowell)
Extract or unzip the downloaded zip file to a location: for example : Desktop
Now you will have a folder on desktop: 282davidhowell.
When you look in that folder you will see a new folder: Howell
dubble click this folder (Howell) and inside you will see:
Folder named: David Howell
David Howell.aia
David Howell.cal
David Howell.hal
David Howell.plr
Now right click folder (David Howell) and choose: Copy........and paste in next location: MyDoc/Tw08/Career/Players
Do the same with: David Howell.plr
(So now folder David Howell+David Howell.plr will be in players folder)
Now right click : David Howell.aia.....choose copy.......and paste in next location: MyDoc/Tw08/Ability
Do the same with: David Howell.hal + David Howell.cal
( So now .aia + .hal + . cal files will be in Ability folder )
Now start TW08 game, and on main screen click: Change Profile.....and you should find David Howell in the player list.
(Note: you can find the folder: MyDoc....on you desktop it is called: My documents....
And inside you will see: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008 with inside Ability folder and Career/players folder.)
Note: ( when you are using Vista or Win7 or Win8: on desktop look for folder: User (or username).....inside you will find: Documents )

Just a little add-on coment to Gunpowers post. Once you install these players according to the Gunpowers instructions you will probably notice that a lot of these custom players are not really a good likeness of the real player they are trying to portray. It is possible to introduce these players into the Facemaker program of the game and make any alterations to their features that you deem necessary. I personally have done this with a lot of these custom player downloads. |

The players are easy to install, once u get one correct, you will see how simple it is....
About the accuaracy of the players....Well Nicklaus, Hogan, and Palmer are x-stock players ported over. I even did a game face pic so they would show up for you....
All the players comes with cash, so you never have to worry about them being broke.
Sick of the stock players shooting horrible rounds? Well I set these stats up so they would play as good as they could.
You can adjust the stats when you use them, I left room for that. The players were dressed in clothes that they may wear on tour, and than the equipment was than set to kind of match. (Personally I switch the clothes all the time, I get bored with the same outfits)
It is simple some of them turned out good, Els, Faldo, Bubba Watson Duval, Sergio and few others and some suck like Couples Trevor, and Fred Funk. Some of them are ok, like Bobby Jones or Tom Watson.
If you dont like em, change them up, it doesnt hurt my feelings. ((((Can never please you Jurgie, it is just about impossible.))))
What you are basically getting is a file that you can customize how you see fit. It is just an ad on feature for the game......... |

from the standpoint of your ordinary everyday TW player (moi) I was very happy to see these golfers made available and uploaded.
And thank you for taking the time to put all of them together for our use! It sure saves a lot of time on the users end.
