| I was wondering what was wrong yesterday. I could access the site, but the site would just freeze and freeze my browser also. I had to end task to get out of it. |

Ill put a end to all of the rumors.
Q: CourseDownloads.com was infected with a virus?
A: FALSE - The site was not infected with a virus, but did recieve a SQL injection attack on a page that somehow got missed in the last re-write, where we thought we had closed all of the holes. SQL Injection is the process of injecting SQL commands into the database by use of querystrings or form posts.
Q: My Computer Reported a Trojan Virus when I visited the site?
A: This is correct the colprit injected a java line into the database that loaded a external java that added a Trojan into your temporary internet files, if your anti-virus software did its job it should have noticed it and quaranteened it. Now, if you dont have anti-virus software then not to worry, delete your temporary internet files and it will be gone, unless you manually opened the file or dont keep windows up to date then there was no way for it to execute.
Q: What if I went into temporary internet file and opened the virus and my PC is now infected.
A: WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU EVER OPEN A FILE IN YOUR TEMPORARY INTERNET FOLDER? But if you did download AVG 8 which is free and install it. |
