After playing PGA2000 online for 7yr I thought it was time to move over to TW08, things are different in this game so I need to ask a few question which I hope will help me and other newbies....
Ive created a golfer and played offline a little, tiger challenge etc.. but Im more of a online player, but need to know the advantages and disadvantages of the settings for online play.....

Ive played 2 tours in novice and enjoyed, and several games in the matchup lobby at easo..

Right now for my questions...

1, I only have 1 created golfer, but do some online players use a different golfer for offline?

2, My created golfers ability is set to Novice, so should I be only joining games in Easo set at Novice?

3, If my golfers set to Novice and I join a advanced game, will I be at an unadvantage?
as I joined 1 today to see the difference, and I was being outdrove by 30yrd +

4, But I thought I had read somewhere that everyone online starts with 75% ability, so why does players gameplay vary so much?

5, As I said,I have played in 2 tours at Novice, but is there anything stopping me once Ive done my 4 rounds at novice moving to the next setting and playing another 4 rounds until ive completed all tours at different ability settings?

hope i aint bored you all,but newbie to TW golf, and just need some advice :-)

cheers Putt

Welcome to TW, coolputt. In response to your queries......

1.yes, but theres no real advantage to this........ everyone has the same attribut level online ( 75%).

2.Nope, you can join a game set to any level.

3.No, club shaft flex and ball type make a difference with relation to your swing and swing type. I suspect that it makes a larger difference for Trueswing than it does for 3-clk ( just stay away from 2-clk, its for , well, nobody ......), although it does seem to make a small difference for 3-clk as well.

4.I dont really know. Swing type makes a difference, and with Trueswing, tempo is everything, and makes a huge difference with regard to distance.

5.Only your own reluctance. Be bold..... the higher levels are much more challenging. Be aware that as you move to higher levels, the lie ( above your feet or below your feet ) has a much greater impact on ball flight ).

Thanks for your comment on who 2 click is for Otto. You may not like to play it , but others do and they should not be made to feel inferior because of their chosen method of play. This is just a game afterall, bought and paid for to enjoy. Ive noticed alot of comments online, and people putting others down because of their swing method and rankings. Its getting a little old and a bit snobbish if you ask me, but hey, I guess being snobbish is another quality of this game that is like the real thing.

Slippery, I recognize that there are folks playing the game with handicaps that prevent them from being able to use anything other than 2-clk. IMHO , those are the folks for whom that swing method was made available. If you fit that deion, please accept my apology.... I meant no disrepsect. I was just pointing out that most folks online hold 2-clkers in a particular disdain because of the ease of the method. If it works for you, then enjoy the game.

For what its worth, I group most edgers and folks that use programs like ?????? in the same category.

HOLY CRAPOLA....

I just tried that ?????? program and Im not sure why I would even want to play anymore. That makes 3CLICK unbelievably easy. I thought Edgers had it easy, well time to get working on a program for the tours.

Actually, I think you have swept over a real use for 2-click guys.

I play expert 3 click as some will know and I am with on the Admin team at PGAX.

I test courses everyday, both the courses on which I am lead architect and all the other courses in current production. In order to check elevation accuracies and the look in-game of a certain area, I always use 2-Click as it gets me through to the areas I am wanting to see a lot quicker than playing my normal gaming mode.
